Over the past several years, work from researchers in the NYC area has increased appreciation of commonalities between cancer and stem cell biology, in turn raising important and unresolved questions in our understanding of tumorigenesis, with implications for the development of novel therapeutic strategies. This LabLinks symposium aims to bring together local researchers in these fields to discuss stem cell niches, epigenetics, and cell heterogeneity in the context of cancer, as well as how this knowledge can be translated to the clinic, together with recent developments in stem cell engineering.
Cell Press LabLinks are free, one-day symposia organized by scientists and Cell Press editors. Each LabLinks symposium features local and keynote speakers discussing a unified topic to foster interactions between colleagues working on related questions, whether those colleagues are across town, across the street, or across the hall.
