The conference is planned to address the interaction between politics and economy in the countries forming the Islamic world. Proposals will be considered in all pertinent areas. These may include:

Regional Studies

South East Asia (Malaysia, Indonasia…)
Indian Subcontinent (India, Pakistan…)
Middle East (Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Iran…)
Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan…)
North Africa (Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria)
Rest of the world (Turkey, Bosnia Herzegovina…)

as well as topics such as:

Underlying economic causes of political instability
Underlying political causes of economic instability
Politics of international trade and economic institutions and how this works against and for the economies of the Islamic countries
Constitutional problems
Localisation of democracy
Interrelationship of financial markets
The restrictions to the economic growth as a result of violation of international trade competition laws
Sanctions and embargoes
Challenges to economy resulting from the lack of good government
Domination of multinationals and consequences such as violation of local labour and human rights in the Muslim world
The success and its causes in areas in the Muslim worlrd where economy has witnessed growth and boom

Arab Spring

Case studies of individual countries such as Egypt and Yemen
Regional and international echoes economically and politically
