Call For Papers | |||||||||||||
The DASFAA 2015 PhD Colloquium will provide a forum for PhD students to have an opportunity of presenting their research ideas in the broad areas addressed by the DASFAA conference itself, receiving feedback from and interacting with senior members of the community. The colloquium will be accompanied by prominent professors, researchers and practitioners in the fields of database technology. These accompanying professors will participate actively and contribute to the discussions. The colloquium is co-located with DASFAA 2015 and will take place on April 20, 2015.
We welcome submissions from PhD students, who have not received their Ph.D. degree nor submitted their thesis before the colloquium. According to the stage of the PhD work, we have two tracks for submission. The General Track is for students who are in early stages of their studies. The submission should clearly specify the problem they plan to focus on, the thesis that they plan to investigate, and the outline of the methodology that they plan to follow. The Towards Graduation Track is for students who expect to graduate by the end of 2015. The submission should specify the contributions they have made so far and what remains to be accomplished. Please include a short cover letter stating which track you are submitting to, the expected graduation date, and a short paragraph on what you hope to gain out of the colloquium. The accepted papers will be revised after the PhD colloquium to be published in the DASFAA workshops' proceedings (pending approval from Springer). Registration fee for the attendees of the PhD Colloquium will be partially sponsored by the conference. SUBMISSIONS Submissions must be single-authored by the student and should specify (a) the expected graduation date, and (b) the name of the supervisor under the author's name. Authors should prepare their submissions according to the DASFAA 2015 formatting guidelines (minimum 6 pages and maximum 10 pages) and upload it to the conference management system (https://cmt.research.microsoft.com/DASFAA2015/). The submission system is now open.
