This second edition will be held on May 30-June 1st, 2016, in the fascinating city of Casablanca, Morocco. Ubiquitous networks sustain development of numerous paradigms/ technologies such as distributed ambient intelligence, context-awareness, cloud computing, wearable devices, and future mobile networking (e.g., B4G and 5G). Various domains are then impacted by such a system, one cite security and monitoring, energy efficiency and environment protection, e-health, precision agriculture, intelligent transportation, home-care (e.g., for elderly and disabled people), etc. Communication in such a system has to cope with many constraints (e.g., limited capacity resources, energy depletion strong fluctuations of traffic, Real-time paradigm, dynamic network topology, radio link breakage, interferences, etc.) and has to meet the new application requirements. Ubiquitous systems bring many promising paradigms aiming to deliver significantly higher capacity to meet the huge growth of mobile data traffic and to accommodate efficiently dense and ultra-dense systems. A crucial challenge is that ubiquitous networks should be engineered to better support existing and emerging applications including broadband multimedia, machine-to-machine applications, Internet of things, sensor networks and RFID technologies. Many of these systems require stringent quality-of-service (QoS) including better latency, reliability, higher spectral and energy efficiency, but also some quality-of-experience and quality-of-context constraints. The main purpose of this symposium is to serve as a forum that brings together researchers and practitioners from academia and industry to discuss recent developments in pervasive and ubiquitous networks. This conference will provide a forum to exchange ideas, discuss solutions, debate on identified challenges and share experiences among researchers and professionals. UNet aims also to promote adoption of new methodologies and to provide the participants with advanced and innovative tools able to catch the fundamental dynamics of the underlying complex interactions (e.g., game theory, Mechanism Design theory, Learning theory, SDR platforms, etc.). Papers describing original research on both theoretical and practical aspects of pervasive computing and future mobile computing (e.g., LTE-A, LTE-B, 5G) are invited for submission to UNet 2016. Topics of Interest UNet 2016 solicits high-quality and original contributions in ubiquitous networking in, but not limited to, the following directions: TRACK 1: Context-Awarness and Autonomy Paradigms • Seamless Inter-Networking, Self-Organisation and Self-Healing • Cooperation, Competition, Learning and Autonomy in Pervasive Systems • Distributed-Ambient Intelligence • Game Theory, Mechanism Design and Learning Applied to Ubiquitous Systems • Context-aware and Profile-aware Pervasive Systems • Context Modeling and Reasoning in Crowdsensing/Crowdsourcing Applications • Incentive Mechanisms for Participatory Crowdsensing/Crowdsourcing Applications • Green Mechanisms for Crowdsensing/crowdsourcing Applications • Always-Best-Connected Paradigm and Pervasive Systems for Smart Cities • Cross-layer Design and Emerging Protocols for Pervasive Networks • Heterogeneous Networking and Multihoming for Ubiquitous Environments • Ad hoc and Delay-Tolerant Networking for Content Dessimination • Internet of Things: Architecture, Interoperability and Technologies • Architecture Design and Backhaul Integration for Ferries and UAV Networks • Opportunistic Routing and Cognitive Capability for Pervasive Systems • Content Caching/Storage and Dessimination in Pervasive Systems • Provisioning, Measuring and Controlling QoS, QoE, QoC and QoI in Pervasive Environments TRACK 2: Mobile Edge Networking and Virtualization • Mobile Cloud Networking, Cluster and Smart Grid • Network Function Virtualization and Programmable Infrastructure • Mobile Cloud Network Planning and Dimensioning • Cloud on Demand: Agility and Scalability • Energy Efficient Resource Allocation for Cloud-based Systems • Data and Storage Issues: Architecture, Management and Business Models • Bargaining Model and Broker Model for Cloud Marketplace • Interaction Among Mobile Cloud Computing Service Provider and Users • Risks and Compliance Issues for Mobile Cloud Networking • Software Development Platform and Enabled New Applications • Cloud Service-Level Agreements and Cloud Context-Level Agreements • Governance and Organizational Structure TRACK 3: Enablers, Challenges and Applications • Multihop, Machine-to-Machine (M2M), Device-to-Device (D2D) Communications • Big Data in Pervasive Systems • Embedded Systems and Smart Wearable Devices • Adaptive, Autonomic and Context-aware Computing • PHY Enablers (mmWave, Massive MIMO, Beamforming, ...) • Dynamic Bandwidth Allocation in 4G, B4G, 5G and Pervasive Systems • Unmanned-Aerial-Vehicles (UAV) Platforms and Networking • Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Flexible Radio for 5G Mobile Systems • Energy Efficiency and Green Techniques for Pervasive Systems • Advanced Technologies for Dense and Ultra-Dense Network Deployment • Sensor Networks and RFID Technologies • Security Issues • Signal, Image, and Video Processing for Pervasive Systems • Virtual Immersive Communications • Economics and Pervasive Systems • Application-oriented Solutions (Healthcare, Military, Supply Chains, Agriculture, Education, ...) Prospective authors are invited to submit original papers with unpublished material and not currently submitted for consideration elsewhere. Manuscripts should not exceed 12 LNCS formatted pages, including figures, tables, and references http://www.springer.com/computer/lncs?SGWID=0-164-6-793341-0. At least one author of each accepted paper must register at full registration rate. An oral presentation at the symposium is strictly required. Failure to present the paper at the conference will result in the withdrawal of the paper from the Proceedings. Work-in-Progress & Position Papers: In addition to regular papers, Work-in-Progress (WIP) papers are also solicited. A special session for WIPs is expected and aims to present and discuss new issues and define insightful directions for future research. Position papers are also welcome, they aim to give the opportunity to authors to convince the audience that their ideas are valid and have a merit to be explored. Selected papers will be included in the UNet proceedings. Publication and Indexing Services: Springer Verlag will publish Papers delivered at UNet 2016 as part of Lecture Notes series (confirmed). They will also be submitted to SCOPUS, ISI, DBLP and other leading indexing services. Special Issues: Papers of particular merit will be considered for a possible special issue in an international journal, Discussions are underway with international journals for publishing the accepted papers. No-Show Policy: The Springer reserves the right to exclude a paper from distribution after the conference (including its removal from Springer Digital Library®) if the paper is not presented at the conference. Plagiarism policy and multiple submissions: Papers are reviewed on the basis that they do not contain plagiarized material and have not been submitted to any other conference at the same time (double submission). These matters are taken very seriously and the Springer publisher may take action against any author who engages in either practice. ================================================= Submission System Papers must be prepared using LNCS template and submitted electronically in PDF format via the Easychair system.
