Call for Papers

The international symposium on Ubiquitous Networking (UNet) highlights new trends and findings in hot topics related to ubiquitous computing/networking. UNet provides an excellent opportunity to share knowledge and the practicability of sciences and technologies of information and communications. This special event intends to bring together researchers and practitioners to present and discuss their recent progresses in all major areas of ubiquitous networking with a particular focus on 5G.

This year, UNet 2017 features four (4) main tracks:

TRACK 1: Context-Awareness & Autonomy Paradigms

TRACK 2: Mobile Edge Networking & Virtualization

TRACK 3: Ubiquitous Internet of Things: Emerging Technologies & Breakthroughs

TRACK 4: Enablers, Challenges & Applications

In addition to regular papers, Work-in-Progress papers and Position papers are also solicited.

Call for Special Sessions and Tutorials
UNet 2017 is featuring a series of special sessions and invites the submission of special session proposals. Prospective organizers are invited to submit a brief description of the topic and motivate the potential interest to the UNet audience. A special session should emphasize on current topics relevant to the ubiquitous networking community on the latest research, engineering, standards and business issues and should include mainly invited talks. Special Sessions should complement the regular program with new and emerging topics of interest.
Each Special Session must include the following and should be maximum five pages:
• Title;
• Names, contacts and a short bio (200 words) of the special session organizers;
• Brief description of the special session including abstract, scope and timeliness;
• Potential participants including TPC members and invited speakers;
• Brief description of advertising plan;
• Draft call for papers;
Accepted Special Sessions must implement Springer academic best practices regarding peer reviews and paper publication. Accepted and presented papers will be published in the conference proceedings as part of the Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science, and submitted to Springer-Link ISI, DBLP and many other leading indexing services.
The proposal must be submitted through EDAS system at – https://edas.info/N22968 using the option for “Special Sessions Proposal”.

Paper Submission & Publication

Prospective authors are invited to submit original papers with unpublished material and not currently submitted for consideration elsewhere. Manuscripts should not exceed 12 LNCS formatted pages, including figures, tables, and references. All submissions have to be done online using the EDAS (https://edas.info/N22919) online submission tool.

Regular papers delivered at UNet 2017 will be published by Springer as part of the Lecture Notes in Computer Science book series (pending). They will also appear in SpringerLink, Scopus, ISI, DBLP and other leading indexing services.

Work-in-Progress & Position Papers: In addition to regular papers, Work-in-Progress (WIP) papers are also solicited. A special session for WIPs is expected and aims to present and discuss new issues and define insightful directions for future research. Position papers are also welcome, they aim to give the opportunity to authors to convince the audience that their ideas are valid and have a merit to be explored. Selected papers will be included in the UNet proceedings.

Special Issues: Papers of particular merit will be considered for a possible special issue in an international journal, Discussions are underway with international journals for publishing the accepted papers.

No-Show Policy: The Springer reserves the right to exclude a paper from distribution after the conference (including its removal from Springer Digital Library®) if the paper is not presented at the conference.

Plagiarism policy and multiple submissions: Papers are reviewed on the basis that they do not contain plagiarized material and have not been submitted to any other conference at the same time (double submission). These matters are taken very seriously and the Springer publisher may take action against any author who engages in either practice.
