CALL FOR PAPERS IEEE CloudNA 2015 IEEE International Workshop on Cloud-based Networks and Applications http://www.ieee-cloudna.org To be held in conjunction with The 40th IEEE Conference on Local Computer Networks 26-29 October 2015, Clearwater Beach, Florida, USA. Submission Deadline: May 26, 2015 (extended) *********************************************************************************** The IEEE CloudNA 2015 will be a one-day workshop and will include a keynote speech. The workshop will bring together researchers, engineers, and practitioners from academia, industry and government to discuss and advance the state-of-the-art research and practice in the emerging area of cloud-based networks and applications. All submissions will be peer reviewed. Accepted papers will be included in the IEEE LCN 2015 proceedings and published in IEEE Xplore. *SCOPE* This workshop solicits unpublished research work related to the latest challenges, technologies, solutions and techniques pertaining to networking within the cloud datacenter and to the efficient and effective cloud deployment and hosting of the various emerging applications and services. The SLO requirements and end-to-end performance of cloud-hosted applications and services can be highly impacted by the underlying networking technologies and architectures adopted within the datacenter. Moreover, co-located services and the cloud network utilization can highly impact the performance of new services and applications to be deployed and provisioned. Effective solutions related to the placement, sizing, bursting, and migration of compute, storage, and data resources within the cloud network(s) become critical to the deployment of elastic and agile applications. *TOPICS OF INTEREST* You are invited to submit original technical papers covering (but not limited to the following topics): . Cloud datacenter architecture and networking . Network node virtualization . SDN-enabled cloud datacenters . Virtual private cloud networking . Intra and inter-cloud networking . Deployment of cloud apps and services . Big Data application provisioning on the cloud . Cloud bursting techniques . Scalability and elasticity techniques . Placement and migration of cloud resources within the cloud . Impact of network utilization and co-located applications on performance . Cloud resource management and capacity engineering . Green networking in cloud datacenters . Trust, security and privacy in the cloud *PAPER SUBMISSION* Authors are invited to submit papers describing original, previously unpublished work, not currently under review by another conference, workshop, or a journal. Full papers (up to 8 camera-ready pages, 10pt font in IEEE format) should present novel perspectives within the general scope of the workshop. Accepted papers are published in IEEE LCN proceedings and IEEE Xplore. All papers must include title, complete contact information for all authors, abstract, and keywords on the cover page. IEEE reserves the right to remove papers from IEEE Xplore that are not presented at the workshop. Papers must be registered on EDAS and submitted in PDF format. Detailed submission instructions are available at the workshop website. *WORKSHOP CHAIR* Khaled Salah Khalifa University of Science, Technology and Research, UAE Sherali Zeadally University of Kentucky, USA *STEERING COMMITTEE* Raouf Boutaba, University of Waterloo, Canada Mohamed Younis, University of Maryland Baltimore County, USA Mazin Yousif, T-Systems International, USA *TECHNICAL PROGRAM COMMITTEE* Chadi Assi, Concordia University, Canada Irfan Awan, University of Bradford, UK Zubair Baig, Edith Cowan University, Australia Salim Bitam, University of Biskra, Algeria Jose Maria Alcaraz Calero, University of the West of Scotland, UK Prasad Calyam, University of Missouri, USA Antonio Cianfrani, University of Roma "La Sapienza", Italy Ernesto Damiani, Khalifa University of Science, Technology and Research, UAE Ernesto Exposito, University of Toulouse, France Scott Fowler, Linkoping University, Sweden Mohammad Hammoud, Carnegie Mellon University, Qatar Masum Hasan, Cisco Systems, USA Dijiang Huang, Arizona State University, USA Ibrahim Korpeoglu, Bilkent University, Turkey Neeraj Kumar, Thapar University, India Rami Langar, UPMC – Sorbonne Universite, France Masood Mortazavi, Huawei Technologies, USA Peter Mueller, IBM Zurich Research Laboratory, Switzerland Gregorio Martinez Perez, University of Murcia, Spain John Russo, Wentworth Institute of Technology, USA Stefano Secci, University Pierre and Marie Curie (UPMC), France Abdullah Shami, Western University, Canada Jawwad Shamsi, National University FAST, Pakistan Tarek Sheltami, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Saudi Arabia Jia Zhang, Carnegie Mellon University, USA *IMPORTANT DATES* Paper Submission: May 26, 2015 (extended) Notification of Acceptance: July 6, 2015 Camera-Ready Paper: July 31, 2015 |
