International workshop on Wireless Sensor-Vehicular Networks and Road Safety (WSVNRS 2015) To be held with the 10th International Conference on Future Networks and Communications (FNC 2015) August 17-20, 2015, Belfort, France. Workshop Website: https://sites.google.com/site/wsvnrs2015 *************************************************************************** Important Dates =============== Submission Deadline: May 21, 2015 (Firm) Author Notification: June 7, 2015 Final Manuscript: June 10, 2015 SCOPE ======= Millions of people around the world die in car accidents and many more are stricken, the car accidents have an increasing growth rate causing huge economic losses. Road Traffic congestion is a main problem that is of a major concern. This problem is increasing seriously day by day and accidents occur much more than common. This causes a traffic blockage, wasted a significant amount of time and fuel. However, Vehicular networks have received deep of research work in the recent years due to the wide range of services they provide. Vehicular Ad Hoc Network (VANET) is the most important part of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS). These systems sometimes help in accident and traffic blockage prevention, but for several reasons, they are not always useful. Using Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) with VANET may to provide timely detection of road conditions and to help enhance road safety. WSVNRS workshop aims to present the different aspects of integration of WSN with VANET and discuss the possible ways permitting the exploitation of the existing synergy between WNS and VANET and allowing road safety improvement. This workshop “WSVNRS 2015” is an opportunity to bring together researchers from academia and industry to share their state-of-the art research and developmental work in this area. The topics of interest include (but are not limited to): • Data dissemination protocols for active safety in WSVNRS. • Wireless sensor Vehicular networks for automatically detection of road accident. • Wireless sensor Vehicular networks architectures, protocols, and algorithms. • Wireless sensor networks for road traffic management. • Use of WSN within cars. • Wireless sensor Vehicular networks performance modeling and analysis. • Medium access control and routing protocols. • Wireless sensor Vehicular networks flow and congestion control. • Quality of Services (QoS) provisioning for WSVNRS. • Wireless sensor Vehicular networks for vehicle control, and safety road. • Mobility management in WSVNRS. • Measurements and Hardware and Software Platforms, Systems, and Testbed for WSVNRS. Publication =========== All accepted papers will be published by Elsevier Science in the open-access Procedia Computer Science series on-line. Procedia Computer Sciences is hosted on www.Elsevier.com and on Elsevier content platform ScienceDirect (www.sciencedirect.com), and will be freely available worldwide. All papers in Procedia will be indexed by Scopus (www.scopus.com) and by Thomson Reuters' Conference Proceeding Citation Index (http://thomsonreuters.com/conference-proceedings-citation-index/).
