##### FAS* Posters and Demos 2019 #####
Foundations and Applications of Self* Systems 2019 - Posters and Demos June 16-20, 2019, Umeå, Sweden http://icac2019.cs.umu.se/calls/call-for-posters-and-demos/ http://saso2019.cs.umu.se/calls/call-for-posters-and-demos/ # Aims and Scope The 16th International Conference on Autonomic Computing (ICAC 2019) and the 13th International Conference on Self-Adaptive and Self-Organizing Systems (SASO 2019), under the federated umbrella of FAS* 2019 – Foundations and Applications of Self* Systems, in addition to their main technical programs, solicit the submission of posters and demos on specific aspects of autonomic software and systems, particularly related to the subject areas indicated by the ICAC and SASO calls for papers. Posters provide a forum for authors to present their work in an informal and interactive setting. They allow authors and interested participants to engage in discussions about their work. In particular, a poster submission should motivate its relevance to the autonomic computing community, summarize the main challenges, experiences, and novel ideas. A demonstration should present an existing tool or research prototype. Authors are expected to perform a live demonstration on their laptop during the poster and demonstration session. A demonstration submission should clearly describe the motivation, the novelty of the contribution, and the applicability of the tool or prototype to specific use cases. # Important dates - Poster / demo submission deadline: March 17, 2019 (Anywhere on Earth) - Notification: April 10, 2019 - Camera-ready copy: April 20, 2019 - Conference: June 16-20, 2019 # Submissions Posters or demonstrations can be submitted for evaluation in the form of an extended abstract. Submissions are limited to 2 pages including references and are required to comply with the standard IEEE Computer Society Press proceedings style guide. All submissions must present only original and unpublished work that is not currently under review at any other venue. Authors should submit their papers using the EasyChair installation available at: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=fas2019-posters_demos. # Selection process All extended abstracts will be reviewed by the members of the Poster and Demo Committee and evaluated based on novelty, impact, technical soundness, relevance to the conference, and presentation. In case an extended abstract presents a software tool, the online availability of such a tool and its documentation will also be considered in the final decision by the reviewers. # Accepted posters and demos If selected, authors shall prepare a final camera-ready version of the extended abstract, taking into account the reviewers’ feedback. The extended abstract of the selected posters and demos will be included in the FAS* 2018 Poster and Demo Proceedings, which will be published in IEEE Xplore. At least one author of each accepted submission is required to register at either ICAC or SASO. At the conference, each author is expected to present their work in the interactive poster and demo session. # Demo guidelines At the conference, authors will present their live demos on their laptops and are invited to bring any other piece of equipment they may need (e.g., smart devices, sensors, actuators, robots, etc.). Software simulations or video recordings are accepted as an alternative if a live demo is not possible. Additionally, authors of the accepted demonstration submissions must also bring a poster summarizing their system and demo, following the poster guidelines. # Poster guidelines When preparing their posters authors are required to capture the viewer’s attention effectively by presenting in a clear and concise way the core concepts and the context of their work. Therefore, visual representations are typically the main medium of communication in a successful poster session. Few attendees will stop to read a large poster with small font and dense text. If screenshots are used, please ensure that they are readable. The recommended size for the poster is A0. Authors are required to print and bring their printed posters at the conference. # Best poster and demo awards Two prizes will be awarded, one for the best poster and one for the best demonstration. The award criteria include the quality of the submitted extended abstract and the quality of the live demo presentation during the posters and demos session. # Poster and demo chairs - Bogdan Ghit, Databricks, the Netherlands - Ilias Gerostathopoulos, Technical University of Munich, Germany # Poster and demo committee - Alexandru Uta, Vrije University, the Netherlands - Erik Frederics, Oakland University, USA - Evangelos Pournaras, ETH Zurich, Switzerland - Christian Krupitzer, University of Würzburg, Germany - Maialen Larranaga, ASML, the Netherlands - Mihai Capota, Intel, USA - Mirco D’ Angelo, Linnaeus University, Sweden - Octavian Voicu, DeepMind, USA - Simos Gerasimou, University of York, UK - Sona Ghahremani, University of Potsdam, Germany - Spyros Voulgaris, Athens University of Economics and Business, Greece - Tanmaya Mahapatra, TU Munich, Germany - Thomas Vogel, Humboldt University Berlin, Germany |
