Call For Papers

The Wireless and Optical Communications Conference (WOCC) is held once a year to exchange information among Chinese professionals from China, Taiwan, Hong-Kong, Singapore, and the United States on the progress of technologies in the wireless and optical communications arena. The main objective of the annual conference is to strengthen the technical and business relationships between the Asian and North American wireless and optical communications industries and provide a forum to bring together experts and industry leaders to exchange advancement in wireless and optical communications technologies, business experiences, and jointly explore new opportunities.

WOCC 2010 will be held in Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park, Shanghai, P.R.China

Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park, founded in July 1992, is located in the middle part of LPudong New Area with a planned area of 25km2, comprising Technical Innovation Zone, Hi-Tech Industry Zone, Scientific Research and Education Zone, and Residential Zone. In August 1999, Shanghai Municipal Committee and Municipal Government made the strategy of "Focus on Zhangjiang" and identified the IC industry, software industry, biomedicine as the leading industries of the Park to play a leading role in innovation, and Zhangjiang began to develop rapidly ever since then.

By the end of 2008, the Park has introduced totally 1540 new enterprises, industrial output amount value 421.4 billion RMB; operating revenues amount 839.7 billion RMB; a fixed asset investment 98.3 billion RMB. attracted investment 13.25 billion USD; contract foreign amount 11.52 billion USD. Practitioners 125,600. applied for 14,233 items of patent (in 2008, have 5091 items). 3218 of them granted (in 2008, have 1013 items) . Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park as planned in "Eleventh Five-Year" plan will become a national example base for self innovation and a science city with global competitive strength.

After 16 years of development, the Park has established a framework for biomedicine industry and information industry chain and innovation chain. A number of national industry bases including Shanghai National Biomedical Industry Base, National Information Industry Base, National Integrated Circuit Industry Base, Semiconductor Lighting Industrial Base, National 863 Project China Eastern Information Security Industry Park (CEISIP), National Software Industry Base, National Software Export Base, National Culture Industry Example Base, and National Network Game and Animation Industry Base have been established at the Park so far.In respect of scientific innovation, the Park is equipped with incubators of various modes and types and has national incubators and national pioneering park for overseas Chinese students and scholars established here. A number of new economy based enterprises at the Park have made great progress. A park culture and innovation atmosphere of "self-design, self-operate and free competition and Encourage success and tolerate failure" is coming into being.
