Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) are basic enablers for today's cloud network innovations. They decouple network functions from the physical network substrate and provide the opportunity for virtualized cloud networks and virtualized cloud network functions. Consequently, network overlays, Network Function Chaining (NFC), SDN cloud network federations, and NFV-based applications are a fundamental driving force for innovations in cloud environments. They provide opportunities for several new and optimized network services in this area and extend the flexibility of Cloud Computing (CC) in general.
SDN and NFV are supporting todays requirements for on demand scalable networks and network functions. These technologies are evolving the Cloud Computing landscape with promising applications for NFV-based cloud services. Moreover, they further enable the deployment of completely new network functions that enable e.g. new monitoring and pricing methods or even energy efficiency for cloud networks. This workshop is a forum for researchers and practitioners to explore and present ideas and results of SDN and NFV applications in Cloud Computing. We invite submissions of original and unpublished research contributions related to SDN and NFV in Cloud Computing and particularly encourage submissions on topics of emerging interest in the research and development communities. The topics of interest include but are not limited to the following: - SDN deployment and operation studies - SDN network management - SDN testbeds - NFV architectures - NFV application deployments - SDN infrastructure management - SDN based network overlays - Virtual SDN networks - Network visualization - SDN network orchestration - Network Function Chaining - Network Service Chaining - Multi-controller architectures - Cloud based network OS integration - SDN network federation - SDN based network QoS - SDN based network SLAs - SDN based network monitoring - SDN or NFV approaches for high throughput - SDN or NFV approaches for low latency - SDN or NFV approaches for Big Data - SDN and NFV based cloud computing - SDN and NFV enabled infrastructure or cloud managers - SDN and NFV based green Cloud Computing |
