2021 IEEE Congress on Evolutionary Computation
Kraków, Poland June 28 - July 1, 2021 http://cec2021.mini.pw.edu.pl/ On behalf of the IEEE CEC 2021 Organizing Committee, it is our great pleasure to invite you to the annual IEEE Congress on Evolutionary Computation (CEC), which is one of the leading events in the area of evolutionary computation. CEC provides a forum to bring together researchers and practitioners from all over the world to present and discuss their research findings on evolutionary computation. IEEE CEC 2021 will be held at the Auditorium Maximum of the Jagiellonian University, located in Krakow, Poland. Kraków is the second largest and one of the oldest cities in Poland, situated in the south of the country. The city is regarded as one of Europe's most beautiful cities and its historic centre is placed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Old and modern architecture with vibrant centers of social life are the town strong assets. Kraków is also a mecca for innovative business and is called the Polish Silicon Valley. ________________________________________ Call for Papers ________________________________________ Papers for IEEE CEC 2021 should be submitted electronically through the Congress website at http://cec2021.mini.pw.edu.pl, and will be refereed by experts in the fields and ranked based on the criteria of originality, significance, quality and clarity. ________________________________________ Call for Special Sessions ________________________________________ Special session proposals are invited to IEEE CEC 2021. A special session proposal should include the title, aim and scope (including a list of main topics), and the names of the organizers of the special session, together with short biographies of all organizers. A list of potential contributors would be helpful. All special sessions proposals should be submitted to the Special Session Chairs: Sung-Bae Cho (sbcho@yonsei.ac.kr) and Jarosław Arabas (jaroslaw.arabas@pw.edu.pl). ________________________________________ Call for Workshops ________________________________________ IEEE CEC 2021 will host a few pre-Congress workshops, focusing on discussing contemporary topics in Evolutionary Computation. Workshops offer the opportunity to polarize ideas towards a common vision for a sub-field, or the development of a position on topic. Workshops may include tutorials, keynote / invited lectures, contributed papers and presentations, or panel discussions. A workshop proposal should include a workshop title and a short introduction to the topic, a short description of aims and relevance of the proposed workshop to IEEE CEC 2021, a list of potential speakers, the expected length of the workshop (half a day or a full day), the workshop tentative form and structure, names, affiliations, websites and bios of the organizers. Prospective workshop organizers are invited to submit their proposals to the Workshop Chair: Maria Ganzha (m.ganzha@mini.pw.edu.pl). ________________________________________ Call for Competitions ________________________________________ IEEE CEC 2021 will host competitions to stimulate research in Evolutionary Computation, promote fair evaluations, and attract congress participants. The proposals for competitions should include descriptions of the problems addressed, motivations and expected impact on evolutionary computation, data description, evaluation procedures and established baselines, schedules, anticipated number of participants, and short biographies of the main organizers. Prospective competition organizers are invited to submit their proposals to the Competition Chairs: Simon Lucas (simon.lucas@qmul.ac.uk) and Julian Togelius (julian@togelius.com). ________________________________________ Call for Tutorials ________________________________________ The IEEE CEC 2021 solicits proposals for tutorials aimed at researchers, students and practicing professionals. Tutorials offer a unique opportunity to disseminate in-depth information on specific topics in evolutionary computation. A tutorial proposal should include the title, short introduction to the topic, an outline of the tutorial, expected length of the tutorial (two, four or six houres), the level of the tutorial (introductory or advanced), and names, affiliations, websites, and bios of presenters. If you are interested in proposing a tutorial, would like to recommend someone who might be interested, or have questions about tutorials, please contact the Tutorial Chair: Mengjie Zhang (mengjie.zhang@ecs.vuw.ac.nz). ________________________________________ Important Dates ________________________________________ • Special Session Proposal & Workshop Proposal Deadline: 19 November 2020 • Competition Proposals Deadline: 17 December 2020 • Paper Submission Deadline: 31 January 2021 • Paper Acceptance Notification Date: 22 March 2021 • Final Paper Submission& Early Registration Deadline: 7 April 2021 • IEEE CEC 2021 dates: June 28 - July 1, 2021 We can also be reached on the following social media platforms: • https://www.facebook.com/cec2021 • https://www.twitter.com/CEC2021 • https://www.linkedin.com/company/cec2021 and by email: • cec2021@mini.pw.edu.pl We look forward to welcoming you in Kraków next year!
