Call For Papers

Description
Working on the frontiers between neuroscience and ICT, or medicine and ICT requires basic knowledge in the field of computer science. This workshop complements the online course ICT for non-specialists and provides practical insights into ICT research for young investigators interested in the subject without an ICT background, who require some basics for their research. Lectures and seminars will be accompanied by practical work and open discussion rounds. Experts in various areas of ICT will be available on site.

Application
This workshop is open to the whole student community and early post-docs upon application.
Applications from young female investigators are highly encouraged.
Application is required as space may be limited.
Applicants selected for participation will be informed within two weeks after the application deadline. There is no registration fee. Seven travel grants will be available upon request (European students only). Accommodation can be provided for 30 students (first come, first served).
Note: The workshop is a supplement to the online course ‘HBP Curriculum – ICT for non-specialists‘. It is recommended for workshop participants to attend the online course as a basis for the workshop. During the workshop, participants will have the possibility of taking an exam about the content of the HBP online course ‘HBP Curriculum – ICT for non-specialists‘.

The Venue
The European Institute for Theoretical Neuroscience (EITN) is a structure created as part of the theoretical neuroscience activities of the Human Brain Project and is operated by the UNIC unit of the CNRS. The EITN is an open place to foster theoretical neuroscience activities related to the HBP, and has been planned to create strong interactions with the theoretical neuroscience community to bring new ideas and theories to the project.
The theoretical neuroscience activities of the EITN are being animated by all leaders of the HBP theoretical neuroscience division. Several postdocs, PhD students, visitors, in addition to the director and one administrative will be welcoming you at the institute.
