Submission Deadline: June 15, 2013 Notification: June 30, 2013 Final Manuscript: July 19, 2013 Author Registration: July 19, 2013 Conference Dates: October 28-30, 2013 ------------------------------------------------------------- The Fourth International Workshop on Advances in Sensor Technologies, Systems & Applications (ASTSA-2013) to be held in conjunction with The Seventh International Conference on Broadband, Wireless Computing, Communication and Applications (BWCCA 2013) at the University of Technology of Compiegne, France, October 28-30, 2013. --------------------------- Call for Papers ---------------------------- Sensors and sensor networks have unprecedented capabilities of building smart systems through sensing and monitoring applications, which provide tremendous benefits to the society. Wired as well as wireless sensors and sensor networks are active research topics in recent years due to their potential uses in diverse areas such as enhanced homeland security, conservation of natural resources, improved manufacturing productivity, improved emergency response, efficient energy utilization, food safety, automation of transportation systems, automatic environment and structure monitoring. Advances in sensors, sensor technologies and systems will help wide adaptation of sensors in all areas of our daily life. ASTSA-2013 will serve as a forum for researchers from academia, government, industries, professionals, standard developers, policy makers, students and practitioners to exchange ideas, present new results and provide future visions of the impact sensors will have in our life. Original technical papers on the advances in sensor technologies, systems and applications, as well as those that describe practical deployment and implementation experiences are solicited for presentation and publication. Topics of interest include (but are not limited to): Network topologies and architectures for sensor networks Network protocols for sensor networks Distributed sensor networks Adaptive sensor networks Sensor networks and cloud computing Sensor networks for cognitive radio systems Sensor network for vehicular ad hoc networks Sensor networks for smart grid Underwater wireless sensor networks Sensors for Embedded Systems Multimedia communications over sensor networks Mobile sensor networks Data gathering, integration, fusion, and dissemination in wireless sensor networks Clustering, topology control, coverage and connectivity Modeling, analysis and performance evaluation Operating systems and middle-ware support Measurements and experience from experimental systems and test-beds Heterogeneous sensor networks MAC and routing protocols for wireless sensor networks Localization and synchronization in wireless sensor networks Power aware and energy efficient design or wireless sensor networks Bio-inspired sensor networks Resources management and dynamic resource allocation Security and privacy in sensor network Monitoring distributed sensors Encryption algorithm in sensor networks Methods for sensor networks deployment Sensing in health care, security, environments, hazards etc. Remote sensing Polling in sensor networks Intelligent sensors All areas of sensor applications Emerging topics in sensor networks ---------------- Submision ----------------- The authors are advised to submit their research paper following the Conference Publishing Service Manuscripts style: two columns, single-spaced, including figures and references, using 10 fonts, and number each page. Instructions for authors how to format the manuscript can be found at: http://www.computer.org/portal/web/cscps/ The papers should be 6 pages long. They will be carefully evaluated based on originality, significance, technical soundness, and clarity of exposition. The papers should be submitted electronically through https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=astsa2013. If there is any problem during submission please contact the workshop chairs. Accepted papers will be given guidelines in preparing and submitting the final manuscript(s) together with the notification of acceptance. Proceedings of the workshop along with the BWCCA-2013 will be published by Conference Publishing Service (CPS), will be included in Digital Library IEEExplore and will be indexed by most of the indexing systems. ---------------------- Workshop Co-Chairs ------------------ - Prof. Bhed Bahadur Bista, PhD, Faculty of Software and Information Science, Iwate Prefectural University, 020-0193, JAPAN.
