The Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest, Romania, has over ninety years long history. Several major departments, including Electromechanics, came into existence in 1921, when the former National School of Civil Engineering (established in 1864) grown into the Polytechnic School of Bucharest, as consecrated by the royal edict endorsed by Ferdinand, King of Romania (June 10, 1921).
Today, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering provides higher education curricula (at undergraduate and graduate levels), and conducts research in theoretical and applied electromagnetism, in areas of low frequency, low and medium voltage, medium and high intensity currents, including: electromagnetic fields and electrical circuits, energy conversion and sources, metrology, measurement systems, electrical machines and apparatus, power electronics, electrical drives and motion control, bioengineering, electro-technology, CAD in electrical engineering, management, electromagnetic compatibility, etc.
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering is the founder of the National Consortium of Electrical Engineering Faculties, the nationwide academic network of the seventeen faculties of electrical engineering.
ATEE is the forum that stimulates the active and effective exchange of information between researchers in various areas of theoretical and applied electrical engineering. Key leaders from private and state-owned companies involved in will also be in attendance.
A comprehensive list of topics is available on the ATEE site upon registration. Among them:
- Electromagnetic Fields, Electrical Circuits and Systems
- Electrical Machines and Drives
- Materials for Electrical Engineering and Technologies
- Power Electronics and Converters
- Field – Substance Interactions
- Biomedical Engineering, Electromagnetic Compatibility
- Renewable Power Sources, Power Systems, and Energy Conversion
- Industry Applications, Design and Informatics
- Apparatus, Measurements and Data Acquisition, Metrology, Safety and Reliability
- Multiphysics Systems and Applications
- Constructal law and structural optimization
- Education in Electrical Engineering Emerging Technologies
