Call For Papers

Do you have a unique research topic? Are you working on a thesis or dissertation? Would you like to gain experience presenting your research as well as network with your peers? If so, Critical Voices welcomes you!

Submit a project or presentation at the sixth annual Critical Voices Conference. This conference, which will host both graduate and undergraduate presenters, is open to all departments in the school of Arts & Sciences, including: English, History, Philosophy, and Religion, as well as Psychology, Sociology, and Political Science.

The 2017 conference theme is “Memory, Culture, and Identity”, and seeks to explore the links between community and the people they create, as well as cultural and individual memory and identity as it evolves over time. We will accept a wide range of presentations within this broader topic.
The conference will be held on the Denton campus of The University of North Texas from Friday, April 21st through Sunday, April 23rd. The conference will take place in the Student Union.

The GSEA conference organizers encourage authors to submit abstracts for individual papers as well as proposals for panels of three related presentations. Abstracts should be 200-400 words (for a piece of scholarly criticism) or an excerpt (for a creative piece). Abstracts for poster presentations are also welcome. Please include with your abstract a biographical note of up to 50 words per author. Please note: submissions are due by January 20th, 2017.

Submissions should include: name/s of author/s (including university affiliations), original title of presentation/panel, an abstract of 200-400 words, and a brief biographical note of up to 50 words per author. You may submit your abstract here using our online form. You may also visit our website at: http://untgsea.wixsite.com/2017. For questions please email untgradenglish@gmail.com.
