The Conference provides an excellent opportunity for participants to exchange ideas and experience with regard to research, practice and policies on reading and writing, internationally and with particular reference to the Asian regions.
The first ARWA Conference will provide an excellent opportunity for participants to exchange ideas and experience with regard to: *Reviewing findings from recent and leading policy, practice and research on reading and writing; *Discussing current issues, concerns, and prospects concerning policy making, practice, research and development, internationally and with particular reference to the Asian regions; *Identifying research and development priorities in reading and writing from the perspective of different countries, institutions and education agencies; and *Exploring possibilities for collaborative activities. The two-day Conference will feature the following activities: *Keynote Sessions: a one-hour speech by invited speakers *Paper Presentation: 15-minute oral highlight; 3-4 papers for a one-hour session *Poster Presentation: requires presence of author; poster size 900 x 1200 mm *Panel Symposium: one-hour interactive discussion led by a group of panellists Influential education policymakers, researchers, and practitioners, will be drawn locally and internationally, to participate in the Conference. The presenting author (paper/poster presentation) or symposium chair should submit an abstract through the Conference website by 20 November 2016. Each abstract should include: a) Topic of the presentation/symposium b) Name, position, and contact email of each author/panellist c) A 200-250 word abstract of the presentation/discussion d) Three to five keywords |
