Call For Papers

QoMEX 2017 is seeking for high-quality Special Session proposals that cover case-studies, dedicated topics for example joined under the specific framework of a research project, and technical and emerging scientific challenges in specific QoE-related fields of interest. Topics of interest shall be within the scope of the general call for papers. QoMEX 2017 Special Sessions are expected to feature at least 5 (accepted) papers per each session. Papers solicited for Special Sessions will undergo the same rigorous review process by anonymous and independent reviewers as regular papers.
Special Session papers will be published together with regular papers in the conference proceedings. At least one author for each paper in the Special Sessions must register for the conference and present the paper, according to the general registration rules.

Proposals for Special Sessions must include:
Title of the Special Session
Motivation and objective of the Special Session
Session outline
Specific topics of interest
Contact information for the Special Session organizer(s)
Short biography of the Special Session organizer(s)
List of authors who have agreed to present a paper in the Special Session (if their papers are accepted), and a tentative title and abstract of each paper.
We are looking forward for your proposals for Special Sessions, which should be submitted to the Special Session chairs Amy Reibman (reibman@purdue.edu) and Sebastian Egger-Lampl (sebastian.egger-lampl@ait.ac.at ), before December 15, 2017. Prospective organizers are strongly encouraged to contact the chairs in advance, before November 22nd 2016, so that they may have an idea about the number of proposals to expect. Notification of accepted proposals is scheduled for Dec. 22nd 2016, while the deadline for paper submission and review are the same as for regular papers.

Rules for special session papers:
Each SS is expected to have at most 5 papers each.
Everybody may submit to a SS (authors included in the SS proposal as well as additional ones).
SS submitted papers will undergo the same rigorous reviewing process by anonymous and independent reviewers as regular papers.
To ensure the identical high quality review process as for the main track, the SS submitted papers will be reviewed together with the regular papers. The selection of accepted papers for the Special Session is performed by the Special Session Chairs in collaboration with the QoMEX TPC. Papers must be submitted as “blind” to reflect the double-blind review process.
If after the reviewing process less than 3 papers submitted to a special session are accepted, the special session will be cancelled and the papers that passed the review process will be presented within the main technical track of the workshop.
Accepted special sessions may be supplemented by accepted papers selected from the general pool in collaboration with the special session chairs.
