The ACM SIGKDD Test-of-Time Paper Award Committee invites you to nominate papers for the 2017 SIGKDD Test-of-Time Paper Award. This award recognizes papers that have made a sustained and significant impact in the KDD community over at least a decade. The nomination deadline is May 1, 2017.

In the first two years, we had the KDD conference Test-of-Time paper award. In 2016, ACM formally approved the award as a SIGKDD wide Test-of-Time award. It thus now covers all SIGKDD sponsored conferences. At the moment, SIGKDD sponsors three conferences, KDD, WSDM, and ASONAM. However, WSDM only started in 2008 and thus its papers are still not eligible. ASONAM started in 2009, but SIGKDD only became a sponsor in 2013. Thus, its papers are still not eligible.

Eligibility:
The paper must have been published as a full paper in KDD 2007 or earlier.
The paper was not already a recipient of the KDD or SIGKDD Test-of-Time Award. Past recipients of this award can be found at http://www.kdd.org/awards/kdd-test-of-time-award.

Nomination:
Of the qualified papers, automatic nominations will be given to the top five highest-cited papers published in year 2006 and 2007 in ACM KDD conferences, and those published on or before 2005 in ACM KDD, ranked by citations according to ACM Digital Library. These papers can be found at http://www.cse.ust.hk/~qyang/kdd-test-of-time-nominees.html. These papers do not need additional nomination.

To nominate a paper not in the list, please provide a letter outlining the significance of the work and reasons why the paper deserves the award. The nomination should be endorsed by at least three SIGKDD members. None of the endorsers should be an author of the paper being nominated. Self-nomination is allowed.
