Introduction:
The concept of inclusive education implies providing all students with the same opportunities to learn and receive a high quality education regardless of their personal, social or cultural background. It is a new area which goes beyond traditional integration approaches in order to endow the educative system with the capability to adapt to the diversity of the students, without the use of special classrooms to separate students with different abilities and facilitating the full participation of everyone.
In order to make inclusive education a reality in the near future, technological advances in applied e-learning, cognitive learning, virtual learning environments, educational multimedia, web-based teaching and learning and tutoring systems, become fundamental. In addition, novel approaches to human-computer interaction are essential to make these contents available for every student regardless of their disabilities and learning styles.

Objective of the Book:
The objective of this edited volume is discussing the current state of the arts in these areas and to present research roadmaps. The proposed title will include introduction to basic concepts, current research guidelines and future perspectives in, but not limited to, the following areas:

• Human-computer interaction, including spoken and multimodal dialogue systems, gestural and haptic interfaces, as well as other modalities for interaction.
• Intelligent tutoring systems, paying special attention to student modeling and personalization.
• Virtual and e-learning environments, both for distance education and to complement face-to-face teaching.
• Educative multimedia, with special interest in the pedagogic criteria that must guide their design.

Also the description of developed systems and the experiences learned from their use are highly welcome. In order to obtain a complete vision of the field, the book will include perspectives from all educational levels from Pre-K to Higher Education.

Target Audience:
The volume is unique from the point of view that it presents a holistic view of new technologies that can be applied for inclusive education. The aim of the book is to be highly multidisciplinary bringing together the perspectives from different knowledge areas such as Computer Science, Pedagogy and Psychology. This way, it will help researchers to broaden their research spheres and improve their understanding of how Technology and Education can enrich mutually. It will also help postgraduate and doctoral students in identifying new and challenging research problems in all the areas involved.

Submission Procedure:
Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before October 15, 2011, a 2-3 page chapter proposal clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors of accepted proposals will be notified by October 30, 2011 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines. Full chapters are expected to be submitted by January 15, 2012. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis, for which contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project. The final acceptance notification is planned for May 1, 2012.
