Special Session on Smart Data and Data Analytics for Automation and Manufacturing Systems at IEEE 15th Conference on Industrial Inforamtics INDIN'2017 - http://indin2017.i2ar.de/ 24th to 26th July 2017 Emden, Germany Special Session Organizers - Birgit Vogel-Heuser, University of Munich, Germany - Benjamin Klöpper, ABB Corporate Research Center Ladenburg, Germany - Paulo Leitao, Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, Portugal - Cesare Fantuzzi, University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy Smart Data and advanced data analytics enable new possibilities and opportunities in the context of engineering, production and automation system along the whole life-cycle of products and systems: Design & development, manufacturing, operation, maintenance and end-of-life. The specific requirements of the domains like real-time operation and dependability pose special requirements towards smart data and data analytics. This special session is dedicated to the application of Smart Data concepts in technologies to real-world automation and engineering problems.
