Call For Papers

CALL FOR PAPERS

FULL AND SHORT PAPER SUBMISSIONS

Authors are invited to submit papers reporting research results, which will be evaluated in terms of: originality, technical content and accuracy, significance of the work, presentation (organization, style and clearness), and appropriateness of references to papers presented in earlier editions of the event.
This edition of Webmedia is organized into three tracks:
Web and Social Networks (co-chair: Andre Santanchè - Unicamp)
Multimedia (co-chair: Ethan V. Munson - University of Wisconsin / Milwaukee)
Digital TV, Ubiquitous and Mobile Computing (co-chair: Maria da Graça C. Pimentel - USP)
Moreover, in this edition, the evaluation of full papers will have a rebuttal phase, in which authors may access the reviews and have the opportunity to respond to reviewers before the final selection.
Another key change in this edition concerns the Volume 1 of the Proceedings which, containing the full and short papers, will be published in the ACM DL during the event. For this to be possible, only papers whose authors meet the hard deadlines for submitting the final version will be published in the proceedings.
As in previous editions, upon submitting a manuscript, authors assume the commitment that, if the paper is accepted, at least one author will register in the conference and present the paper.
Authors can submit full or short papers. Full papers (between 6 and 8 pages) should report on substantial research supported by complete results. Short papers (4 pages) may describe ongoing work and contain partial results.
Papers must be prepared to allow double-blind review, which requires removing any information which may suggest who the authors are (in the first page, in the references, etc.).
Papers can be written either in English or Portuguese. Papers in Portuguese must include an abstract in English, and optionally an abstract in Portuguese.
The submissions must be in PDF, complying with the ACM format (http://www.acm.org/sigs/pubs/proceed/template.html).
All papers must be submitted electronically by the EasyChair system: https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=webmedia2012
Previous editions of the Volume 1 of the Proceedings are available at: http://portal.acm.org/event.cfm?id=RE446
