CALL FOR PAPERS

"Innovation and good practices in university government" Dossier

Published in volume 9, number 2, July 2012

Editor: Francisco Rubio Royo

Objective

In a changing world (global, fast and profound), and in network world, universities are possibly the organisations that most need to adapt to the new reality, both in a personal and in a collective way, and to the challenges of a Network Society where new knowledge and talent are the competitive advantages to achieve a shared and balanced development.

Generally speaking, it is true to say that there has not been much progress made in this area to date, in its practical aspect, despite the theoretical debate being shared by most of the interested agents associated with these institutions worldwide.

In this edition of RUSC, we want to invite people who have participated in a university innovation process and/or good practices to share their experience with people around the world.

We are especially interested in discovering changes, be they big or small, that have occurred at universities regarding the traditional ways in which they are governed or managed, and in discovering the meaning of these changes in the raison d'être and/or strategy of these institutions.

Subject areas

We are interested in receiving articles on the subject of the dossier, from universities from all over the world.

Specifically, the subject areas of the dossier are as follows:

University government. Good governance models in specific fields.
Government of Engineering Departments and/or Faculties/Schools. Innovation in their relationship and synergies.
Scope and reality of strategic reflections at universities.
University innovation and governance: the progress so far. Open innovation.
University networks: objectives and realities. Strategic alliances.
Effective Knowledge Management experiences at universities.
Excellence, performance and productivity indicators which are compatible with the values of the specific University in question.
The Integral Control Board in university management.
Accountability of universities to their interested agents.
