The Universidad Central “Marta Abreu” de Las Villas (UCLV), institution with excellent performance in the High Educational System of Cuba, has the honor of inviting investigators, academic, managers, decision-makers and other specialists, to the International Convention of Science, Technology and Society. Perspectives and Challenges. This event will be hosted in the tourist pole to the north of Villa Clara province, Cuba, between October 23 and 27, 2017. As part of thematic areas of this Convention, the celebration of International Conference of Processing of Information (ICIP2017) is under organization. The conference will include a III Workshop on Information Sciences. The Workshop aim is to facilitate the collaboration and information sharing about the technology and its impact on the information professional context. The workshops topics of interest include (but are not limited to) the following: semantic web, open access and egovernance initiatives, media and information literacy, scientific activity evaluation, records and knowledge
