A general and flexible program has been prepared to perform this static nonlinear analysis. Next, a two-dimensional finite element computational method is presented for determining submarine pipeline displacements and stresses due to waves and impossed motions of the lay-barge.. The Newmark-b method is used for the solution of nonlinear equations. A time domain solution for the bidimensional dynamic structural response is obtained with the help of a computer programs. Key- words: ……………………………………………………………….……………… (THE TEXT SHOULD BE ITALICISED, SIZE FONT 12) 1. INTRODUCTION (SUBTITLES SHOULD BE IN CAPITAL BOLD LETTERS, FONT SIZE 12) A submarine pipeline for the transport of oil or natural gases can be achieved by progressive launching with the aid of a lay-barge with stinger (fig. 1). With the growth of the depth of the sea water, the length of the suspended pipeline between the tensioning device and the touch-down point on the sea bed, becomes greater. In that case the stresses in the submarine pipeline can get so great, that the buckling of pipe can be produce. The static and dynamic analysis of suspended pipeline during laying has the purpose to confer safety to offshore pipe laying operations.
