View more publication and indexing history:https://ceect.org/pub.html ●Speakers Prof. Zhengtao Ding University of Manchester, UK Zhengtao Ding received B.Eng. degree from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, and M.Sc. degree in systems and control, and the Ph.D. degree in control systems from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, Manchester, U.K. After working as a Lecturer with Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore, for ten years, he joined the University of Manchester in 2003, where he is currently Professor of Control Systems with the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He is the author of the book: Nonlinear and Adaptive Control Systems (IET, 2013) and has published over 200 research articles. His research interests include nonlinear and adaptive control theory and their applications, more recently network-based control, distributed optimization and distributed learning, with applications to power systems and robotics. Prof. Ding has served as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, IEEE Control Systems Letters, Transactions of the Institute of Measurement and Control, Control Theory and Technology, Mathematical Problems in Engineering, Unmanned Systems, and the International Journal of Automation and Computing, etc. He is a member of IEEE Technical Committee on Nonlinear Systems and Control, IEEE Technical Committee on Intelligent Control, and IFAC Technical Committee on Adaptive and Learning Systems. Prof. Iven Mareels Federation University Australia, Australia, Australia Iven Mareels is Pro Vice-Chancellor Innovation and the Executive Dean of the Institute for Innovation, Science and Sustainability at Federation University Australia. He is a Director of the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering, and a non-executive Director of Rubicon Water (ASX listed). Previously, he was a partner in IBM Consulting and Director of the Centre for Applied Research, IBM Australia (April 2021-Aug 2022); Director of IBM Research in Australia (Feb 2018- Mar 2021); Dean of Engineering at the University of Melbourne (2007-2018). Iven received the PhD in Systems Engineering from the Australian National University (1987), and the Master of Engineering (Electromechanical, ir) from Gent University (1982). He has co-authored over 500 refereed publications, including 5 monographs. He is a co-inventor of a suite of patents related to the automation of large scale, gravity fed, irrigation systems (with Rubicon Water). Iven has received a number of awards, including, 2021 IBM Research Achievement Award (bronze level); 2017, Harold Chestnut Control Engineering Textbook Prize; 2014 IEEE Control Systems Society Technology Award; 2013 Asian Control Association Wook Hyun Kwon Education Award; 2008 Clunies Ross Medal for the automation of irrigation.…… Prof. Yifan Chen University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, China Dr Yifan Chen is a Distinguished Professor in the School of Life Science and Technology, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. He received the B.Eng. (Hons. I) and Ph.D. degrees in electrical and electronic engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He has held various academic and leadership positions in top-tier universities in China, New Zealand, UK, and Singapore across multiple disciplines such as electrical and electronic engineering, biomedical engineering, and computer science and engineering. He is a Fellow of Engineering New Zealand, a Fellow of The Institution of Engineering and Technology, UK, and a Fellow of European Alliance for Innovation. Prof. Shengyuan Xu Nanjing University of Science and Technology, China Shengyuan Xu received his B.Sc. degree from the Hangzhou Normal University, China in 1990, M.Sc. degree from the Qufu Normal University, China in 1996, and Ph.D. degree from the Nanjing University of Science and Technology, China in 1999. From November 1999 to May 2000 he was a Research Associate in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong. From December 2000 to November 2001, and December 2001 to September 2002, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher in CESAME at the Universitè catholique de Louvain, Belgium, and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Alberta, Canada, respectively. Since November 2002, he has joined the School of Automation at the Nanjing University of Science and Technology as a professor. Assoc. Prof. Ningyi Dai University of Macau, China Ningyi Dai received the B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Southeast University, Nanjing, China, in 2001, and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Electronics engineering from University of Macau, Macau, China, in 2004 and 2007, respectively. She is currently an Associate Professor with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and SKL of Internet of Things for Smart City, University of Macau. She is also the assistant Dean of Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Macau. She has authored or co-authored more than 100 technical journals and conference papers in power systems and power electronics. Her research interests include the application of power electronics in power systems, control of power converters and integrated energy system. Dr. Dai is Chair of IEEE Macau PES/PELS Joint chapter. She was the corecipient of the Macao Science and Technology Award in 2012, 2018 and 2022. Assoc. Prof. Siqi Bu The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, China Dr Siqi Bu received his BEng (Hons) in Electrical Engineering, BSc (Hons) in Management of Industry and Business in 2006 and MEng (Distinction) in Electrical Engineering in 2008 all from Southeast University. He obtained his PhD from the Queen's University of Belfast, U.K., in 2012, where he continued his postdoctoral research work in the same department before entering industry. He then worked with National Grid UK as an experienced UK National Transmission System Planner and Operator. He joined Department of Electrical Engineering at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), Kowloon, Hong Kong, as an Assistant Professor in 2016 and then was promoted to tenured Associate Professor in 2020.
