Special Issue Information:

As technologies such as the Internet of Things evolve, there will be an increasing number of linked devices in use around the world. Humans and critical systems in organizations are becoming more connected via the internet as remote working becomes more popular. Cyber-attacks are on the rise at the same time. Such cyberattacks are often initiated through the lack of awareness of humans in organizations. Therefore, humans are regarded as the weakest link in cyber security. Effective and efficient cyber security training plays a crucial role to strengthen this weakest link. On the other hand, cyber security solutions, in most cases, lack human-centred design, which is essential to empower humans in organizations to be an effective first line of defence.

This special issue aims to gather empirical, experimental, methodological, and theoretical research reporting original and unpublished results on personalized cyber security training and human-centred cyber security solutions. We will focus not only on how to provide effective and efficient cyber security training, but also on designing and developing human-centred cyber security solutions that enhance defence in depth. Finally, this will facilitates knowledge sharing on challenges and best practices on the cyber security training and human-centered cyber security solutions in different critical domains, which in turn helps in learning between domains.

Topics of interest for this special issue include, but are not limited to:

Personalized Cyber Security Training
Gamification in Cyber Security Training
Dynamic Cyber Security Training
Team/Group-based Cyber Security Training
Targeted Feedback in Cyber Security Training
Training-driven Cyber Security Investments
Cyber Security Training Environments
Emerging Technologies in Cyber Security Training
Cyber Situation Awareness
Usable Security
Privacy-aware Solutions for Cyber Security Applications

Manufacturing
Nuclear
Oil and Gas Industry
Smart Cities
Transportation
Water
