Overview
======== The RTSEMS (RealTime Service oriented and EMbedded Systems) workshop, addresses the modelling, implementation and assessment of real-time and embedded services in software systems. Real-time and embedded services form the backbone of critical applications where timing, reliability, and resource efficiency are paramount. Real-time services, provided by components like Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS), task schedulers, and interrupt handlers, ensure tasks are completed within strict deadlines, making them essential in fields such as aerospace, automotive, and industrial automation. Embedded services, including device drivers, middleware, and security services, optimize hardware interaction and safeguard operations within resource-constrained environments, prevalent in consumer electronics, healthcare, and home automation. Together, these services facilitate seamless integration, robust performance, and dependable functionality, enabling the creation of sophisticated systems that drive innovation and maintain operational excellence across diverse technological landscapes. The 1st edition of the RTSEMS Workshop will be held in Tunis (Gammarth), Tunisia at the 3rd of December, 2024. It is one of the workshops of the 21th International Conference on Service Oriented Computing (ICSOC 2024) https://www.icsoc.org/ Topics ====== We invite submissions on all aspects of embedded and realtime systems, including but not limited to: - Advances in Real-Time Operating Systems: Innovative features, performance improvements, and case studies. - Task Scheduling Algorithms: Novel algorithms, comparative studies, and implementation techniques. - Interrupt Handling Mechanisms: Efficient methods, latency reduction, and real-world applications. - Device Drivers Development: Secure and efficient driver development, integration challenges. - Middleware for Real-Time Applications: Frameworks, communication protocols, and performance optimizations. - Security in Real-Time Systems: Threat modeling, mitigation techniques, and case studies. - Applications in Aerospace and Automotive: Specific challenges, solutions, and innovations. - Healthcare Embedded Systems: Innovations in medical devices, real-time data processing, and reliability. - Consumer Electronics and Smart Home Automation: Real-time requirements, solutions, and future trends. - Energy-Efficient Real-Time Systems: Techniques for reducing power consumption in real-time applications. - Formal Methods and Verification: Ensuring correctness and reliability in real-time systems. - Distributed Real-Time Systems: Challenges and solutions in distributed environments. - Real-Time Data Analytics: Processing and analyzing data in real-time. - Machine Learning for Embedded Systems: Integrating AI/ML in real-time applications. - Adaptive Real-Time Systems: Systems that adjust to changing conditions and requirements. - Internet of Things (IoT): Real-time aspects of IoT devices and networks. - Cyber-Physical Systems: Interactions between computational and physical processes. - Real-Time Simulation and Modeling: Tools and techniques for simulating real-time systems. - Case Studies and Industrial Experiences: Practical implementations and lessons learned in real-time systems across various industries. - Industrial Automation: Real-time control systems, case studies, and technology advancements. Important Dates =============== Workshop Papers Submission: 26th September 2024 Authors Notification: 24th October 2024 Camera Ready and Registration: 31st October 2024 Workshop Date: 3rd December 2024 Submission and Publication ========================== All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal, conference or workshop. The following paper categories are welcome: - Research papers: 12-page limit, describing original and novel research work, including research results and evaluations. The papers may present the ongoing research, novel ideas with preliminary results, advances of the state of the art, analysis of the current results in the state of the art or state of the practice, or experience in implementing the theories. - Industry papers: 8-page limit, This track will be an opportunity for people associated with industry and academia to present their novel ideas while attracting funding and/or further expand collaborations. An important criterion for papers to be submitted to the Industry Track is a clear industrial association, either in the form of an extensive evaluation of research results in industrial use cases or active participation of industry representatives as co-authors. Papers should be formatted according to Springer's LNCS Formatting Guidelines. Submissions must be in English and must not exceed the above mentioned limit pages (including abstract, figures and references). Each paper must be submitted on or before the provided deadlines. The final submission should be formatted according to Springer's LNCS Camera ready instructions. All papers must be submitted electronically, as PDF file using the Easychair platform: https://easychair.org/my/conference?conf=icsoc2024 then by selecting "Workshop on RealTime Service oriented and EMbedded Systems" track. If any problem arises when submitting your paper, please contact: wafa.gabsi@redcad.org Paper Review ============ Each paper will be reviewed by at least three members of the international program committee for ensuring high quality. Paper acceptance will be based on originality, significance, technical soundness, and clarity of presentation. All accepted papers will be included in the workshop proceedings published as part of the Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series of Springer. At least one author of an accepted paper must register and participate in the workshop. Registration is subject to the terms, conditions and procedure of the main ICSOC conference to be found on their website: http://www.icsoc.org/ |
