The Colloquium is North America’s critical gathering place for everyone involved in the science of braking from around the world. In 2026, experts from industry, research institutions and academia are invited to convene in Palm Desert, California to share their development and case studies in every critical aspect of braking for ICE, Electric, and Hybrid vehicle development for Light and Heavy Duty (Cars, Trucks & SUVs), Commercial Vehicle, Railway and Motorcycle. We are seeking submissions for both OEM and aftermarket braking advancements. Seeking Submissions for the Following Topics Fundamental and Advance Friction Materials New or Advances in Raw Materials Disc and Drum Materials / Design Braking Plate Advances Shims and Greases Application in CV, Railway and High- Performance Vehicles Wheel Bearings/Seals Impact of Energy Efficiency (Fuel Economy and Range) on Brake Design Braking advances in Electric, Hybrids, and ICE Vehicles NVH Advancements Advances in Virtual Technologies Machine Learning Testing & Measurement CAE Fundamental Mechanisms of Friction and Vibration New Innovative Technologies / Products Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning / Gen AI Integration of Brakes and Brake-based features: ADAS, AVS, CAV, etc. Best Practices / Edge Cases Emissions / Euro 7 XIL (Model/Software/Hardware) in the Loop Impacts of Mechatronics System Safety for Vehicle Deceleration and Immobilization Important Information By submitting an abstract, the author agrees to participate in person and present the results of their work. NO WRITTEN ONLY submissions are accepted. Abstracts must be submitted online to only ONE session. No offered paper submissions shall have been previously published. Paper acceptance will be based on organizer moderated peer review of a review ready manuscript. Portal for submission of abstracts is now OPEN Deadline for submitting abstracts is February 16, 2026 Review Ready Manuscripts due to session organizers March 30, 2026 Peer Review Process occurs between March 30 - July 13, 2026 Approval of Technical papers for publication July 13, 2026 Final Manuscripts and copyright assignments due to SAE July 27, 2026 Authors/Presenters will be charged a nominal registration fee.
