Call For Papers

We invite proposals for CRAFT (Critiquing and Rethinking Accountability, Fairness, and Transparency) sessions at ACM FAccT 2026, taking place June 25–28 in Montréal, Canada (in-person and online).

CRAFT is a conference-embedded program for critical, community-driven, and experimental engagements with computing and AI. It supports forms of inquiry often constrained in traditional academic venues — centering situated knowledge, lived experience, and collective imagination around questions of power, governance, care, and solidarity as they unfold across technology and society.

We welcome proposals in a wide range of participatory formats — workshops, dialogues, unconferences, site visits, artistic interventions, games, simulations, and more — that explore critical questions in computing and AI from perspectives often underrepresented at FAccT, including those grounded in indigeneity, coloniality, feminist and gender politics, disability justice, environmental justice, Majority World contexts, and faith-based traditions.

We particularly welcome proposals from First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples in Canada, Indigenous communities and scholars internationally, and those working in solidarity with Indigenous-led initiatives. We are also especially interested in sessions grounded in local struggles engaging communities in and around Montréal, as well as proposals from organizers, advocates, educators, artists, journalists, public sector workers, and people directly impacted by technological systems.

No prior conference experience or academic affiliation is required. Submissions are due **March 25, 2026** (~4 pages), and funding and travel support may be available. Please share this call widely.
