Call For Papers

Call for Papers

We invite submissions covering all aspects of computer graphics, information visualization, and HCI. Research at the intersections of these areas, as well as intersections with computer vision, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, are encouraged. Accepted papers will be part of the Graphics Interface Proceedings archived in the ACM Digital Library, there are no publication fees. The Michael A. J. Sweeney Award will be awarded to the best student papers in computer graphics and HCI at the conference.

Sincerely, Toshiya, Ana, and Oliver

Deadlines

GI has two rounds of submission deadlines, each with its own review process (all deadlines 11:59 pm AoE):
First Round:

Submission Deadline: January 30, 2026
Author Notification: March 2, 2026
Camera-ready Due: March 27, 2026

Second Round:

Submission Deadline: April 3, 2026
Author Notification: April 27, 2026
Camera-ready Due: May 22, 2026

Submission and Review Process

Submissions are made using the Precision Conference System (PCS). Authors may submit and edit their materials and metadata in PCS until the deadline.

Submissions are single-blind, meaning submissions are not anonymized (authors and institutions are shown) but reviewer identities are not known. The rationale is that reviewers can properly assess conflicts of interest, while protecting reviewer anonymity to encourage honest feedback. All submissions will be reviewed by at least three reviewers.

We accept new submissions to both rounds. Submissions to the first round can be accepted, rejected, or asked to revise and submit again to the second round. Submissions to the second round will only be accepted or rejected.
Preparing Your Submission

Papers can be of any page length (though a length between 6 to 8 pages not including references is common). Length is expected to be commensurate with the size of the contribution, a very short or very long paper is more likely to be rejected.

For your submission please follow the ACM proceedings-template Guidelines. There you will find detailed instructions along with LaTex and word templates for generating PDF files. For GI, we use a two-column “sigconf” layout:

For LaTeX authors, submissions should use the double-column format using \documentclass[sigconf, screen]{acmart}.

For Word authors, submissions should use the double-column format template called interim-layout.docx.

You are also encouraged to submit supporting files, such as videos, source code, and data. Uploaded videos should be encoded in a high quality format (e.g., MPEG-4) that works across as many platforms as possible without the installation of additional codecs.

Please note that your total submission size cannot exceed 100.0 MB, including your submission document and any additional material. If you cannot comply with this limit, please contact one of the paper chairs.
Paper Presentations

At least one author of each accepted paper must register for the conference and attend to present in person. Note GI 2026 has no hybrid or remote attendance. However, authors who are unable to travel due to visa or health issues may request to submit a pre-recorded and captioned video that will be made available for attendees to watch.

Each paper presentation session will have two parts. The first part consists of paper presentations: each author will have about 6–8 minutes to present, followed by one or two short questions. The second part is a mini poster session held immediately after the talks. Each author can bring a poster to mount at a designated location in or near the presentation room (we can also supply a simple sign with the paper title), and then stand by it for more direct and personal discussions with attendees.
