28th International Conference on Speech and Computer (SPECOM-2026)
September 17-18, 2026 Ohrid, North Macedonia Web: https://specom.feit.ukim.edu.mk We are delighted to invite you to participate in the 28th International Conference on Speech and Computer SPECOM 2026 that will take place in the iconic city of Ohrid, North Macedonia, September 17–18, 2026. Ohrid is a UNESCO world heritage site, known also as the Jerusalem of the Balkans due to numerous churches and monasteries, a city situated on the coast of the scenic Ohrid Lake. SPECOM 2026 will be hosted by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje. Every year SPECOM attracts researchers, linguists and engineers working in the areas of speech science, speech and language technologies, human-computer interaction, forensics, voice disorders and paralinguistics. SPECOM 2026 marks the 30 years anniversary since the first SPECOM organized back in 1996, and will follow the successful events held in Szeged, Belgrade, Dharwad, Gurugram, Istanbul, Leipzig, Hatfield, Budapest, Athens, Novi Sad, Pilsen, Kazan, Patras, Moscow, and St. Petersburg. The SPECOM Program Committee consists of members from 30+ countries. SPECOM 2026 is honored to host two distinguished plenary speakers, who will share their expertise on cutting-edge developments in speech science and technology: • Yi Xu, University College London, United Kingdom • Phil Garner, Idiap Research Institute, Switzerland. CONFERENCE TOPICS SPECOM attracts researchers, linguists and engineers working in the following areas of speech science, speech technology, natural language processing, human-computer interaction: • Affective computing • Automatic speech recognition • Computational paralinguistics and behavioral signal processing • Conversational AI and multi-agent systems • Corpus linguistics • Digital signal processing for speech and audio • Domain-specific applications (healthcare, forensics, accessibility, analytics) • Efficient and deployable speech systems (edge, streaming, MLOps) • Embodied AI and immersive voice interfaces (XR/robotics) • End-to-end and real-time speech systems • Feature engineering and self-supervised representation learning • Foundation and large models for speech, audio, and language • Language understanding and generative NLP • Multilingual speech technologies • Multimodal AI (speech–text–vision integration) • Sign language processing • Speaker identification and verification • Speech and language resources • Speech and language technologies for healthcare and vocal biomarkers • Speech and multimodal human-computer interaction • Spoken dialogue systems • Spoken language processing and translation • Trustworthy and secure speech AI • Voice assistants SUBMISSION OF FULL PAPERS SPECOM Proceedings will be published by Springer Nature as books in the Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence (LNCS / LNAI, Scopus Q2) series listed in all major international citation databases. Potential authors are invited to submit full papers of 10-16 pages formatted in the Springer LNCS style. Each paper will be reviewed by at least three independent reviewers (single-blind), and accepted papers will be presented either orally or as posters. Papers submitted to SPECOM must not be under review by any other conference or publication during the SPECOM review cycle, and must not be previously published or accepted for publication elsewhere.
