Call for Papers - Workshop "MixHAI-XR: Human–AI Interaction and Technology-Mediated Human Representation in eXtended Reality" https://mixhai.icar.cnr.it/ 2027 ACM International Conference on Intelligent User Interfaces (IUI 2027) https://iui.acm.org/2027/ February 8-11, 2027 - Helsinki, Finland. ==================================================================================== WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION ------------------------- MixHAI-XR explores how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is changing the way humans are represented, from realistic replicas and human digital twins to agents that combine traits of different people. Extended Reality (XR) is the central interaction paradigm through which people meet, embody, and collaborate with these representations. More information can be found here: https://mixhai.icar.cnr.it/ TOPICS ---------- Contributions may address any point on the continuum, in XR or beyond. The list of topics includes (but it is not limited to) the following: - The continuum of technology-mediated human representation Realistic replicas, human digital twins, digital clones, avatars, personalized agents, expert representations, and composite agents that combine traits of different people, including 3D capture, voice synthesis, and identity fidelity. - Agency, control, and responsible augmentation Who controls a representation, what is modelled or omitted, and who is accountable for its actions: perceived control, explainability, consent, authorship, provenance, and attribution, as well as overreliance, offloading, manipulation, and privacy. - Embodied and multimodal interaction in XR Immersive interaction with digital humans, LLMs, conversational agents, decision-support tools, and adaptive services, including speech, gesture, gaze, haptics, spatial cues, and physiological sensing. - Evaluation, collaboration, and application domains Cognitive load, trust, acceptance, accessibility, and social acceptability in single- and multi-user XR, studied in areas such as healthcare, education, industrial training, and cultural heritage. IMPORTANT DATES ------------------------ Full Paper Submission Deadline: November 9, 2026 Full Paper Acceptance Notification: December 7, 2026 Camera-ready Deadline: December 21, 2026 SUBMISSION AND DECISIONSa ------------------------ Authors should prepare a regular or short paper. Regular papers are at least 10 “standard” pages, short papers 5 pages (without references). Authors must use the new CEURART style format (https://ceur-ws.org/HOWTOSUBMIT.html#CEURART). Papers should clearly indicate the originality of the contribution, relevance to the workshop themes, and potential impact. Full Papers will be reviewed by the Technical Program Committee. All contributions will be peer-reviewed, and acceptance will be based on quality, originality, and relevance. Authors of accepted full papers must submit the final paper version according to the deadline, register for the workshop, and attend to present their papers. More information can be found here: https://mixhai.icar.cnr.it/#cfp.
