ALEA, revue internationale d'art et de recherche (ISSN 3130-477X) is an annual, peer-reviewed, open-access journal published online by the ALEA association in Paris. Under the editorship of Dr. Marie Goehner-David (Université de Strasbourg), the journal invites submissions for its inaugural issue.

We welcome short research articles across all fields of art, including but not limited to:
- contemporary artistic practice and methodology;
- art history and the circulation of forms between Europe and Asia;
- traditional techniques, craftsmanship and their transmission;
- design, applied arts and moving-image art;
- art education and professional pathways in the art sector.

Submission guidelines
- Languages: English, French, Chinese or Japanese. Accepted articles are published in a bilingual French–English edition.
- Length: up to 3,000 words (excluding abstract, notes and bibliography).
- Review: editorial screening followed by double-blind peer review.
- Deadline: 30 October 2026. Submissions for Issue 2 remain open on a rolling basis.
- Online publication of the inaugural issue: January 2027.

Fees
Submission and peer review are free of charge, and no fee applies to rejected manuscripts. Accepted articles are subject to an article processing charge of €690. Full French translation, carried out by a human translator (no machine translation), is available at €650. Full details are provided in the author guidelines.
