Call for Papers
Tenth IEEE International Workshop on Wireless Mesh and Ad Hoc Networks (WiMAN 2016) Collocated with ICCCN 2016 Waikoloa, Hawaii, USA, August 4, 2016 Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort Hotel The Tenth IEEE International Workshop on Wireless Mesh and Ad Hoc Networks (WiMAN 2016) will be held in conjunction with the 25th IEEE International Conference on Computer Communications and Networks (ICCCN 2016), in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA. All papers presented in WiMAN 2016 will be published in the workshop proceedings by IEEE Communications Society and IEEE Digital Library. The main purpose is to share state-of-the-art research results, promote discussions of research, and share recent research activities in the areas of design of architectures, protocols, algorithms, services, and applications for wireless networks. It also aims to promote the synergy between academic and industry professionals working in these areas. We seek papers that address theoretical, experimental, and work in-progress that cover all layers (from the physical layer to the application layer) of wireless mesh and ad hoc networks. Topics covered by the workshop will include, but are not limited to, the following: *Wireless LAN, PAN, MAN and WAN *Multi-hop wireless communications and ad hoc networking *MAC protocols (IEEE 802.11, 802.15, 802.16, 802.20, and beyond) *Routing, scheduling, and channel assignment protocols *Wireless protocols and architectures for IoT and CPS *mmWave wireless communication and networking *Full-duplex wireless communication and networking *Wireless physical layer security *Multi-radio and multi-channel wireless mesh networking *Implications of smart antennas on MAC and routing protocols *Quality of Service provisioning *Multimedia communications over mesh and ad hoc networks *Network deployment, localization, and synchronization *Topology construction and maintenance *Methods and tools for mesh and ad hoc networks simulation *Modeling and performance evaluations *Physical layer techniques *Cross layer optimizations *Power-aware and energy-efficient protocols and algorithms *Self-organization, self-configuration network architectures *Intelligent system techniques for mesh and ad hoc networks *Security-related issues in mesh and ad hoc networks *Testbeds, prototypes, and practical systems *Novel applications of mesh and ad hoc networks *Wireless sensor networks and RFID [need to format this a bit to align it to other bullets] *Performance evaluation of wireless mesh and ad hoc networks Important dates: Paper due: March 31 (Extended), 2016 (23:59 EST) Notification: April 30, 2016 Camera-ready: May 8, 2016 Registration: May 15, 2016 Workshop date: August 4, 2016 Submission Guidelines: Papers should be submitted through the Easychair system: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=icccn2016. In the system, select the track of this workshop and then proceed to create a new submission. Authors are invited to submit manuscripts reporting original unpublished research and recent developments in the topics related to the workshop. Submissions should include an abstract, key words, and the e-mail address of the corresponding author. The length of the papers should be limited to 6 pages in standard IEEE camera-ready format (double-column, 10-pt font). Detailed submission instructions will be posted on the workshop webpage. Submission of a paper should be regarded as an undertaking that, should the paper be accepted, at least one of the authors will register and attend the workshop to present the work.
