== Overview ==

The International Conference on Aspect-Oriented Software Development (AOSD) is the premier
conference on software modularity, with an emphasis on modular structures that cut across
traditional abstraction boundaries. The AOSD.11 conference invites high-quality papers
reporting on the use of aspect-orientation and advanced modularity techniques in industrial
settings. The industry track aims at providing an accurate picture of the state-of-the-art
practice of AOSD. We invite experience reports on the use of AOSD in industrial settings,
evaluation studies of the benefits of advanced modularity techniques in practice, papers
on the best practices, guidelines and pitfalls in the use aspect technologies.
We are also interested in papers that describe the adoption process of advanced modularity
techniques in your organization.

== Topics ==

* How is AOSD being used in industrial projects today?
- What are the needs for advanced modularity techniques in your application domain or in your organization?
- What problems did you tackle with AOSD?
- What kind of tools did you use or develop to accomplish your work?

* Does the improved modularity yield real benefits?
- How do the AOSD solutions compare to other solutions?
- How does AOSD benefit your project or your organization?
- Did AOSD improve productivity and product quality?
- Do the benefits outweigh the costs of adopting new technologies?

* What do developers need to be aware of when using AOSD?
- What technical, organizational and business issues did you face?
- What crosscutting concerns could not be solved with AOSD? What deficits came up?
- How much work did it require from you in the process of learning and implementing your solution?

* How did your organization adopt AOSD?
- What level of adoption has AOSD reached within your organization or among your users and customers?
- How did your colleagues who were unfamiliar with AOSD respond?
- What are the main challenges facing industrial adoption of AOSD?
- Did you encounter obstacles to the deployment of AOSD in the industry?

See the Industry Track Web Sites from 2005 to 2010 for examples of Industry Track papers (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010).

== Review Process ==

Industry papers should be submitted to industry@aosd.net.
The Industry Program Committee will evaluate the submissions, and may contact you as part of the review process. Therefore, your submission must name a primary contact including postal address, telephone and fax numbers, and email address.

Submitting a paper well in advance of the deadline will allow the committee to provide early feedback that can help improve the paper.

Authors of accepted papers will be asked to give a 30-minute presentation at the AOSD conference.
The audience will include experts from both industry and academia. Accepted submissions will be posted on aosd.net.

== Submission Requirements ==

We will accept full submissions, with no more than 12 pages (including bibliography and any appendices), and short submissions, with 2-3 pages. All submissions must be in the standard ACM SIG Proceedings format (http://www.acm.org/sigs/publications/proceedings-templates) and must use a 9pt size font. Please send submissions and any related questions directly to the Industry Program Chairs, Flavia Rainone and Thomas Cottenier (industry@aosd.net).
