This special issue focuses on research-orientated results, trials and pilot studies to solve various problems and challenges foreseen in future for WiMAX.

Topics of primary interest include, but are not limited to:

• Channel Measurement and Modeling
• Smart Antennas & Base Stations for WiMAX
• Radio Resource Allocation
• ARQ and HARQ Enhancement
• Power Saving and Management
• Handover and Mobility Management
• Security and Privacy Issues
• Network/Radio Planning and Regulations
• Relay and Femtocell
• Downlink or Uplink Scheduling
• WiMAX Overlay & Mesh Networking
• Wireless MAN Technology
• Multicast and Broadcast Services (MBS)
