The 1st International Workshop on Active Ageing and Digital Inclusion (AADI 2016)
http://www.cihe.edu.hk/aadi2016/ Oct 26-29, 2016 Spaienza Univeristy, Rome, Italy Organized by: The Education University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and Caritas Institute of Higher Education Information technologies such as social media and networks, big data, wearable and mobile computing, deep learning enhanced AI, and VR/AR techniques have improved our life from various aspects. However, older people may be easily excluded from the digital society as technologies seem challenging and complicated for them. With the rapidly increasing number of elder people, active ageing and digital inclusion becomes a critical issue for many countries. In this context, the first international AADI workshop 2016 will be held in conjunction with the International Symposium on Emerging Technologies for Education (SETE 2016) in Rome, Italy during Oct 26-29, 2016. The aim of this workshop is to provide a forum for researchers, social scientists, computer scientists and policymakers to share experiences and research findings to facilitate digital inclusion for elder people, explore potential educational strategies, social policies, domain-specific technologies and applications, and create opportunities for future research collaborations. AREAS OF INTEREST: Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: Educational technologies for active ageing and digital inclusion (AADI) Hardware and embedded devices for AADI Internet of things for AADI Mobile and ubiquitous computing for AADI User and context modeling for AADI Tangible and affective computing for AADI Intelligent tutoring systems for AADI Artificial intelligence for AADI Social computing for AADI Designs, models and frameworks for AADI Robotics for AADI Policies, social issues and reviews for AADI SUBMISSION RULES AND GUIDELINES Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings to be published as a volume of Springer’s Lecture Notes in Computer Science series (EI compendex). Submissions must not exceed 10 pages in LNCS (Lecture Notes in Computer Science) format, excluding references (up to 2 extra pages). We encourage authors to cite related work comprehensively, and when citing conference papers please also consider to cite their extended journal versions if applicable. All submissions must be in PDF format. Authors should avoid the use of non-English fonts to avoid problems with printing and viewing the submissions. All accepted papers MUST follow strictly the instructions for LNCS Authors. Springer's LNCS site offers style files and information. There are two tracks for the workshop: 1. Regular Papers: 8 -10 pages 2. Short Papers: 4 - 6 pages Submissions must not have been published previously and must not be under review for publication while being considered for AADI. This applies also to papers with significantly overlapping contributions. Authors are advised to interpret these limitations strictly and to contact the PC chairs in case of doubt. AADI submissions are reviewed following the single blind review process, meaning, you need not hide authors' names and affiliations. Each accepted paper must be accompanied by at least one full registration regardless of the status of the registering author, and an author must present the paper at the conference. Otherwise, the paper will be removed from the proceedings and LNCS digital library.
