8th International Conference on Desalination Science and Technology 2027
14-18 November 2027 | Crowne Plaza Noah Square, Shanghai, China With growing populations, intensifying climate change, and accelerating urbanization, ensuring a resilient and sustainable freshwater supply is a top global priority—making saline water and wastewater key pathways forward. The 8th International Conference on Desalination Science and Technology 2027 (DESAL 2027), to be held in Shanghai, will connect researchers and industry to advance next-generation desalination beyond conventional membrane approaches by focusing on transport mechanisms, novel desalination materials, innovative hybrid systems, advanced module design, and critical operational strategies (including pre-/post-treatment and membrane fouling control). The conference will also highlight sustainability priorities such as minimizing energy use and carbon footprints, improving removal of emerging contaminants, and strengthening circular economy principles through brine/concentrate management and resource recovery. Conference deadlines Abstract Submission Deadline: 28 May 2027 Author Notification Deadline: 23 July 2027 Author Registration Deadline: 20 August 2027 Early bird Registration Deadline: 20 August 2027 Topics include: Novel desalination materials Nanofiltration, reverse osmosis, forward osmosis, pressure retarded osmosis Transport mechanisms in desalination Electrochemical systems Emerging desalination technologies Ultrafiltration, microfiltration Membrane distillation, pervaporation Membrane fouling and control Pre-treatment and post-treatment processes Resources recovery Novel hybrid systems and module design Industry-scale desalination Green hydrogen production from desalinated water AI, digital twins and autonomous operation for desalination systems Renewable energy integration and low-carbon desalination Environmental impact, brine management, LCA and sustainability assessment Desalination economics, policy, planning and community engagement Supporting publication Desalination Case studies journal Case Studies in Chemical and Environmental Engineering |
