The Organizing Committee of FAIM 2013 cordially invites experts from academy and industry to participate in the Smart Data for Smart Manufacturing Systems Special Session.
Workshop abstract Smart Manufacturing defines an integrated, knowledge-based, data-rich enterprise in which all business activities are determined and executed proactively with application of the best possible information and a wide range of performance metrics. Industry has begun gathering information and manufacturing intelligence by investing in highly automated and IT-driven production systems and technologies. Indeed, implementation of smart processes requires information in a distributed, ubiquitous and collaborative fashion for it to be shared and processed at every level in the company, e.g. design, planning, manufacturing and auditing. An example of such data model is STEP-compliant CAPP-CAM-CNC platform that relies on STEP and STEP-NC as the backbone of data structure. This session welcome contributions in such data models and data processing technologies in support of smart manufacturing solutions. Topics We invite contributions in all areas relevant to the theme Smart Data for Smart Manufacturing System. Both theoretical and applied papers are encouraged. In particular, the session welcomes papers in the following areas (but not limited to): CAD/CAM/CNC data interoperability Smart manufacturing systems and technologies Data modelling for ubiquitous manufacturing scenarios Data model for Close loop manufacturing systems STEP and STEP-NC deployment for smart Manufacturing Smart systems via Cloud Technology Submission Procedure Submission link - here Organizers Julio Garrido Campos, Vigo University, Spain Xun W.
