Call for Papers: Special Issue on Smart Grid
Journal of Advanced Computational Intelligence & Intelligent Informatics (JACIII) Vol.17 No.1 Recently many utilities, manufacturers, researchers, government leaders around the world are working on a very sophisticated issue, Smart Grid, to modernize both the electric power transmission and distribution grids for the future. Smart grids are intelligent and self-healing power systems which integrate intelligent transmission network with IT and collect, distribute, and process information about the behavior of all power suppliers and consumers in order to improve reliability, power quality, and to reduce electricity costs. Using a key issue, smart meter, enables smart grids to have smart real time monitoring on a regional and national scale to control and management the grids to avoid or mitigate the system-wide blackouts. In this special issue, we hope to explore breakthrough and new contributions useful to achieve the goal of smart grid. Journal of Advanced Computational Intelligence & Intelligent Informatics (JACIII) invites investigators to submit original papers in the area of smart grid. Topic scopes related to all aspects of research, development, and real-world applications of smart grid, including but not limited to the following: z Smart meter development and smart metering infrastructure z Demand response z Electric vehicles(EVs) z Renewable energy including solar, wind, micro-hydro, biomass, geothermal energies, etc. z Energy storage such as compressed air energy storage (CAES), flywheel energy storage, pumped hydro storage, etc. z Demand side grid management z Energy and demand forecasting z Smart communities and micro grids z Smart grid development planning z Home and building energy management systems z Security and privacy protection in smart grid z Communication requirements of smart grid technologies z Wi-Fi, home area network and peer-to-peer networking for smart grid z Obstacles in smart grid development z Applications of computational intelligence to smart grid Important Dates Deadline for submission of manuscripts: July 20, 2012 Notification of acceptance: September 20, 2012 Deadline for submission of final manuscripts: November 20, 2012 Publication of this issue: January 20, 2013 Paper Submission Prof. Ken Nagasaka Environmental Energy Engineering Lab Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology Phone: +81-42-388-7481 E-mail: bahman@cc.tuat.ac.jp Papers should be submitted in Microsoft Word or PDF format.
