CALL FOR PAPER
Special Session on Performance, Measurement, Evaluation and Security of Wireless and Mobile Networks In conjunction with the Global Wireless Summit 2013 (GWS-2013) to be held on June 24-27, 2013 in Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA. http://www.gws2013.org/ http://gws2013.org/call-for-papers/special-sessions/ SCOPE Wireless and mobile networks including WLAN, WiMax, wireless personal networks, ad hoc, sensor, ubiquitous along with pervasive networks have emerged as an important research paradigm in recent years with several interesting application domains. The increasing popularity of these networks as an inexpensive and promising means for ubiquitous communications have created a new set of issues and trade-offs. Factors such as performance, measurement, evaluation and security of wireless and mobile communication systems pose a new set of unique challenges due to the particular inherent properties of these systems and due to the characteristics of the wireless transmission medium. Therefore development of these factors has become a very vital phase for future generation of wireless and mobile networks. The objective of the special session will be to deal with the issues related to the performance, measurement, evaluation and security of wireless and mobile networks, including, wireless ad hoc, sensor, and ubiquitous networks. This special session will bring together researchers and professionals from industry and academia in order to share and exchange their experiences, discuss challenges, and report state-of-the-art and in-progress research on all aspects of performance, measurement, evaluation and security in wireless and mobile networks. TOPICS OF INTEREST The special session solicits high quality and previously unpublished work that cover variety of topics including, but are not limited to: • Performance, measurement and evaluation tools for wireless and mobile networks • Mobility modeling and management • Probabilistic models for ad hoc, sensor and ubiquitous networks • Performance and power management control • Applications of performance monitoring to improve QoS • Network architectures, protocols, or service algorithms • Wireless and mobile security management • Secure neighbour discovery / Secure localization • Trust establishment, intrusion detection, detection of malicious behavior • Security, scalability, and reliability issues PAPER SUBMISSION AND REVIEW Submitted manuscripts must be in standard IEEE two-column format that is used for IEEE conference proceedings and must not exceed 5 pages, including figures, tables and references. Standard IEEE templates for Microsoft Word or LaTeX formats can be found at: http://www.ieee.org/conferences_events/conferences/publishing/templates.html A submission may present preliminary results, propose new research direction, provide insightful retrospective, or offer a provocative viewpoint on important wireless and mobile networks topic. Papers will be selected based on their likelihood of generating insightful technical discussions at the special session and influencing future research. Relevant attributes include originality, technical merit, clarity, and technical relevance. Papers must be submitted in PDF format through EDAS (http://edas.info/N13329 (SS11)). All papers will be peer reviewed and the comments will be provided to the authors. Consistent with standard scholarly practice, the authors should not have substantially similar work in review anywhere else. The accepted papers are to be included into IEEE Xplore. IMPORTANT DATES Full paper submission deadline: May 01, 2013 (23:59 EDT) (HARD DEADLINE) Paper acceptance notification: May 15, 2013 Paper camera-ready deadline: May 20, 2013 FOR MORE INFORMATION For questions about the paper submission and review process, please contact the session organizer: Amrita Ghosal (amrita.ghosal@bcrec.org), Subir Halder (subir.halder@bcrec.org) |
