SPECIAL ISSUE on Advances in Cloud for Smart Cities.
International Journal of Distributed Systems and Technologies (IJDST), http://www.igi-global.com/journal/international-journal-distributed-systems-technologies/1164 ==================== TOPIC ==================== The increasingly pervasive exploitation of ICT in urban environments is improving the sustainability and resilience of the smart future cities. To respond to diverse needs of citizens, to improve urban quality of life and to foster economic development, a smart city need a widespread monitoring of the environment and a real-time processing of context based data and analytics. In this scenario, the Cloud becomes essential to provide appropriate tools and techniques for interacting with the environment and processing and storing data. In addition, Cloud deals with privacy and security issues to support shared information and data among citizen, companies and administrations. This Special Issue aims to gather innovative works on Cloud solutions for Smart Cities, in order to discuss the limits and/or advantages of existing Cloud solutions for smart cities, and to propose original and innovative contributions for enhancing Cloud service in urban environments. Paper acceptance will be based on originality, significance, technical soundness, and clarity of presentation. ==================== IMPORTANT DATES ==================== JANUARY 16st, 2015: Submission of the manuscript MARCH 20th, 2015: Notification of First Results with Reviewers’ Comments APRIL 3th, 2015: Submission of the revised manuscript APRIL 24th, 2015: Final Notification to Authors MAY 8th, 2015: Submission of the Camera Ready version The special issue will be published in 2015. ============================================================ CAMERA READY SPECIFICATION: In order for me to proceed with the issue editing and for publishers to typeset it, you must email me with ALL the following electronic documents: 1. The final manuscript in MS Word version Note: The final manuscript should not include the images within the text. Instead all images must be now submitted in their own folder. Please ensure that images are clearly numbered to reflect their order within the text. All images will be reproduced in b&w, and must be submitted in the Tagged Image File Format (.tif) only, saved between a 180 and 360 dpi setting. It is important that you clearly indicate in the text where the images should be placed. Thus, I kindly recommend you including image captions whenever possible. Tables created in MS Word do not need to be removed from the text and formatted as .tif files. These images can remain embedded within the text. 2. A short biography for each author in MS Word version 3. Complete postal and e-mail addresses of EACH author in MS Word, 2003 version 4. Signed “Author’s Warranty and Transfer of Copyright Agreement” form (form attached). In the case of multiple authors, ALL authors must sign a form; however, each author does not have to sign the same copy of the agreement 5.
