CONFERENCE -

The Center for Barth Studies announces the 2015 Annual Karl Barth Conference to be held June 15-18, 2014 at Princeton Theological Seminary. The theme of this year's conference is "Karl Barth & the Gospels: Interpreting Gospel Texts," and the plenary speakers include:

CALL FOR PAPERS -

In efforts to engender the kind of collaborative, critical, and interdisciplinary exchanges we consider indispensable to scholarly and religious environments alike, the Center for Barth Studies is advancing a call for papers. In addition to the plenary sessions, the conference will host two-three concurrent speaker sessions open to graduate, junior, and senior scholars. We welcome paper proposals representing a braod range of disciplinary engagements with the conference theme, including but not limited to:

- Theological Studies
- Biblical Studies
- Philosophical Studies
- Historical Studies
- Political Theology
- Discourse Analysis
- Social and Critical Theory

SUBMISSION DETAILS -

Paper Proposal Abstracts: Abstracts must be sent to barth.center@ptsem.edu no later than March 1, 2015. Abstracts should include the following: (1) a 250 word description of the specific topic, theme, or issue to be addressed and a brief description of the methodology, and general field of discourse your proposed paper will primarily draw upon. (2) Along with your abstract, on a separate page, please include your paper title, name, institutional affiliation, and program/area of study.

Expect to receive notification of the status of your proposal by the third week of March.

Accepted papers should be no more than 3,500 words in order to be delivered in 30 minutes and allow for 15 minutes of Q&A.
