Call for Papers
A Special Session at ICDIM 2011 on 'Pattern Analysis and Intelligent Systems' (www.icdim.org) submission at www.icdim.org/submission.php Chairs: Dr. James Liu, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong, P.R. China Dr. Honghua Dai, Deakin University, Victoria, Australia Dr. Hongwei Wang, Tongji University, Shanghai, P.R. China Motivations Pattern Analysis aims to classify or describe groups of measurements or observations. It is an important technology within the area of intelligent systems, often used in data preprocessing and decision making. Demand for intelligent systems of pattern recognition also surges. The design of such a system involves essentially some aspects like: (1) Data acquisition and preprocessing; (2) Data representation; (3) Decision making, etc. The intention of this session is to highlight technologies and recent results that provide useful insights to pattern analysis and intelligent system. We welcome novel algorithms, creative ideas, the state-of-art technologies, useful tools, and well justified processes that help address the related problems in various domain applications. Scope Authors are invited to submit research and application papers representing original, previously unpublished work. Submissions are solicited that should address an interdisciplinary audience, but may deal with issues at the cutting edge of research in Pattern Analysis and Intelligent Systems, including (but not limited to) the following: 1.Artificial Intelligent techniques including Neural Networks; Genetic Algorithms; Case-based reasoning, etc. 2.Chaos in complex domain 3.Clustering/classification/ranking/identification 4.Data mining/information mining/pattern mining 5.Decision support / intelligent decision making 6.Document analysis and recognition 7.Feature extraction and representations 8.Intelligent (hybrid) systems like Fuzzy systems; Chaos systems; Rough-based Systems, etc. 9.Pattern recognition 10.Reinforcement/incremental learning About ICDIM 2011 Following the successful earlier conferences at Bangalore (2006), Lyon (2007), London (2008), Michigan (2009) and Thunder Bay (2010) the sixth event is being organized at La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia in 2011 September. The International Conference on Digital Information Management is a multidisciplinary conference on digital information management, science and technology. The principal aim of this conference is to bring people in academia, research laboratories and industry together, and offer a collaborative platform to address the emerging issues and solutions in digital information science and technology. The ICDIM intends to bridge the gap between different areas of digital information management, science and technology. This forum will address a large number of themes and issues. The conference will feature original research and industrial papers on the theory, design and implementation of digital information systems, as well as demonstrations, tutorials, workshops and industrial presentations. Publications The accepted papers will be included in the conference proceedings indexed in IEEE Xplore. Modified version of the selected papers will appear in the special issues of peer reviewed and indexed journals including: 1. Journal of Digital Information Management (JDIM) 2. Journal of Intelligent Manufacturing (JIM) 3. International Journal of Information Technology and Web Engineering (IJITWE) Deadlines & Important Dates Submission of papers - May 15, 2011 Notification of Paper Acceptance/Rejection - June 15, 2011 Camera Ready Paper Due - July 25, 2011 Author Registration - August 01, 2011 Late Registration - August 10, 2011 Workshop Dates - September 11-14, 2011 |
