Call For Papers

DEADLINE - Call for Papers closes 29 January 2010

AUVSI invites you to submit abstracts of papers to be considered for presentation at AUVSI's Unmanned Systems North America 2010.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION PROCESS

* Abstracts must be submitted online at: http://symposium.auvsi.org/auvsi10/public/CFP_ProposalSubmission.aspx?
* More than one abstract may be submitted for consideration; however submissions must be made separately (one abstract per submission).
* Submissions must include a 150 word session description to be included in the conference program.
* Abstracts of the proposed papers are to be between 250-300 words in length.
* The abstract should include a summary of the principal issues, research methods and conclusions of the paper. This information will assist program coordinators in selecting the most appropriate papers for presentation in each track and session. Abstracts will be published in the online show guide.
* The abstract submitter should be prepared to include a 100 word curriculum vitae of the presenter upon submission of the abstract.
* Abstracts/papers that are deemed to be sales or marketing presentations of an organization’s products or capabilities will be rejected by the Technical Committee.
* Time allocations for paper presentations will be 25 minutes, including questions and answers.
* If selected to present, the author is responsible for ensuring that the paper is unclassified and releasable no later than 23 July 2010. Selected authors who fail to inform AUVSI that their papers are not releasable will be at risk of not being invited back to present at future AUVSI events.

TRACKS AND SUGGESTED TOPICS

Autonomy—Algorithms, Applications and Maintenance

Topics of Interest include testing and evaluation of multiple levels of autonomous control, mission management technologies and maintaining system intelligence.

Guidance, Navigation & Control Technologies

Topics of interest include sense and avoid, common control and multiple vehicle teaming.

Novel Missions and Special Applications

Topics of interest include arctic applications research, environmental monitoring research, public safety applications research, firefighting research and crash investigations/lessons learned.

Operator Interfacing

Topics of interest include situational awareness and human-computer interaction.

Training, Standards, Operations and Maintenance

Topics of interest include training programs and techniques, application and development of standards, operations and lifecycle maintenance, case studies and research data.

Unmanned Systems Integration

Topics of interest include research into technologies or methods for integrating unmanned systems into mission environments.

Other

Topics that do not fall under the scope of those listed above.

NO PAPER, NO PODIUM POLICY
AUVSI reserves the right to replace any speaker who does not meet the above stated deadlines. Additionally, this conference has a "No Paper, No Podium" policy. If a written paper is not submitted by the deadline of 6 August 2010 authors will not be permitted to present the paper at the conference. Any paper which is not presented for any reason will be considered to be withdrawn and will not appear in the conference proceedings. This policy is intended to improve the quality of the conference for the attendees.
