VaMoS 2017 11th International Workshop on Variability Modelling of Software-intensive Systems https://vamos2017.wordpress.com/ 1-3 February 2017 Eindhoven, The Netherlands ------------------------------------Call for Papers--------------------------------- Variability management is a major challenge during the development, maintenance, and evolution of software-intensive systems. An important precondition for the effective and efficient management of variability is that it must be explicitly modelled. With variability modelling coming of age, it is important to consider also non-functional properties of variable software systems. VaMoS 2017 particularly welcomes approaches that deal with the measurement, prediction, and modelling of non-functional features and properties, as well as approaches that address the wider spectrum of variability management, like requirements, architecture, implementation, verification, evolution and refactoring. The VaMoS workshop series aims to bring together researchers from different areas dedicated to mastering variability in order to discuss advantages, drawbacks, and complementarities of various approaches, and to present new results for mastering variability throughout the life cycle of systems, system families, and (software) product lines. IMPORTANT DATES Abstract submission: November 10, 2016 Paper submission: November 14, 2016 Notification: December 2, 2016 Camera ready: December 16, 2016 VaMoS workshop: February 1-3, 2017 WORKSHOP FORMAT VaMoS 2017, like previous VaMoS workshops, will be a highly interactive event. Each session is organised in such a way that discussions among the presenters of papers, discussants, and other participants are highly stimulated. Typically, after a paper is presented, it is immediately discussed by pre-assigned discussants - after which a broader discussion involving all participants follows. All sessions are closed by a general discussion of the papers presented in that session. The workshop language is English. Attendance is open to all authors of accepted papers, invited speakers, the organisers, PC members, and to guest visitors that commit to become assigned as discussants of papers. TOPICS of INTEREST (non-exclusive) - Variability across the software life cycle - Measurement, prediction, and modelling of non-functional properties of variable software systems - Architecture and design of variable software systems - Formal verification, testing, and debugging of variable software systems - Refactoring and evolution of variable software systems - Variability in systems of systems - Variability mining - Reverse engineering of variability - Synthesis in the presence of variability - Formal reasoning and automated analysis on variability - Software economic aspects of variability - Visualisation and management of variability SUBMISSION and PUBLICATION We welcome the following type of submissions related to the topics of VaMoS: - Research papers describing novel contributions - Problem statements describing open issues of theoretical or practical nature - Reports on positive or negative experiences with techniques and tools - Surveys and comparative studies investigating pros, cons and complementarities - Research-in-progress reports including research results at a premature stage - Data papers presenting interesting and important data sets to the community - Case studies and empirical studies - Tool papers or demonstrations - Vision papers Submissions must be in English, and between 4 and 8 pages in length in the ACM proceedings format (http://www.acm.org/sigs/publications/proceedings-templates). Full details on the content envisioned for data papers are given on the website. EasyChair submission site: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=vamos2017 The proceedings will be published in ACM’s International Conference Proceedings Series, which includes a publication in the ACM digital library.
