Editors

Anna Agapova, Florida Atlantic University
Emmanuel Mogaji, Keele University
Nirosha Wellalage, University of South Australia

We invite scholars and practitioners to contribute to an edited volume exploring the ethical and sustainability dimensions of digital transformation in financial systems. This book will provide an interdisciplinary platform to analyze how emerging technologies reshape finance, create new ethical dilemmas, and impact sustainable development goals.

Focus
The rapid digitalization of financial systems — evidenced through, among others, FinTech, AI, blockchain, digital assets, and RegTech — is redefining how financial institutions operate, innovate, and serve society. While these technologies promote efficiency and inclusion, they also raise pressing ethical concerns related to privacy, fairness, accountability, and sustainability.

We aim to integrate perspectives from finance, ethics, technology, and sustainability studies to:
• Examine ethical challenges arising from digital financial innovation.
• Explore how digital finance can contribute to (or undermine) sustainable development.
• Identify regulatory and governance implications of AI-driven finance.
• Offer company- and policy-level insights on responsible and ethical digitalization.

Suggested Topics
• Ethical dilemmas in FinTech, AI, and digital finance.
• Trust, transparency, and accountability in algorithmic finance.
• Digital finance and ESG performance.
• Sustainable finance instruments (e.g., green bonds, ESG ETFs) in the digital era.
• Regulation and governance of digital financial markets.
• Ethical frameworks for sustainable digital transformation.
• FinTech and financial inclusion in emerging economies.

Both theoretical and empirical contributions are welcome, as well as case studies and policy-oriented papers.

Submission:
Abstract submission: up to 500 words, outlining research question, methodology, and expected contribution; deadline: 31st March 2026
Full chapters (after abstract’s acceptance): approximately 6,000–8,000 words (all inclusive); deadline: 31st December 2026
Please submit your abstract to:
adam.marszk@pg.edu.pl and ewalechm@pg.edu.pl

All submitted abstracts and chapters will undergo a review by the editorial team (and external reviewers where appropriate) to ensure academic rigor, originality, and thematic relevance to the volume.
